Cal Luth is a great team.....they had good coaches and players. I'm sure it will be a battle next year when Linfield travels down there to play. And your QB, kicker and #15 are studs. Along with a bunch of other players too. Good luck next year and keep up the good work!

coco

That goes for me, too. It was a great game, with big plays for both teams.
You guys have had a great season, and I look forward to meeting you again next year.

Kings4,
Congrats to your boys on a great 09 season.  It was a battle until the end.  If you made the trip, sorry we missed you.  There were some CalLu fans that stopped by for some pre game banter.
Your QB is one tough kid.  He took some big hits yesterday, I know he was hurt, but he refused to come out,  competed hard all day.  Hope he is OK.
See you at your place next year.

Oh and one other thing, the old guy that lead his personal cheer (chant) from the stands was pretty cool.  He was in his own world for sure--  I liked it !!

Hey, thanks for coming on the NWC board. I enjoyed your posts and your good humored give and take.
Hope to see you in person at CAL LU next season.

Go Cats! Make it 62 in '17!

Congrats Linfield on advancing in strong fashion. Tough to watch those guys not quite able to get it going for CLU, but a great experience for the players and fans nonetheless.

Didn't make it to the tailgate, ended up hanging out in the locker room and going out on the field for warm-ups. It was definitely cold as advertised but the lack of rain was awesome...great atmosphere and rowdy fans! The clu one man cheer posse that was representing all game is karsten, a clu alum and avid supporter who has not missed a game maybe ever - including the contests against linfield in the 70's.

Linfield dominated the front line on both sides of the ball and that definitely let them dictate the flow of the game. Their running game was full steam ahead and QB may be the most composed and accurate I have ever seen in D3, that kid could have a future with some added weight. The oline had some big boys straight across, and were able to move very well in pass pro.

CLU couldn't quite find a groove all day, and just weren't playing as well as they have the last few games. They struggled keeping momentum on drives and converting when needed. Big plays kept them in it though, and with a few more conversions here and there they may have had a shot.

Very proud of how the Kingsmen played though - I think everyone would agree that there wasn't an ounce of quit in them even with linfield plugging on all cylinders over and over, the clu team kept playing their hearts out till the final whistle.

Congrats to the CLU coaches and players that led this team to a first ever undefeated scaic record and d3 playoff birth. They were a lot of fun to follow this year.

Already looking forward to a repeat and building on this experience for another strong season next year - which will include revenge on the wildcats! Hoping your qb isn't making the trip...

See you next year - good luck in winning it all!

Looking forward to LINFIELD - CLU at least once the next two seasons. Congratulations on the season effort.

I was perusing d3 front page and went back to this:

QuoteWildcats quarterback Aaron Boehme has thrown for 2,353 yards this season and 25 touchdowns during his JUNIOR campaign. In eight of his nine straight he has thrown for multiple scores including back-to-back five-TD games to end the regular season. A threat to find the goal line both through the air and with his feet Boehme is the second leading rusher on his squad with 310 yards and seven scores on only 42 carries.

The edit is mine. I'm looking forward to the game in Thousand Oaks next year because AB will be there   :)

stealth

Hello all and I certainly hope your well even OB. Been awhile since I dropped by to give and take some abuse but always in good fun. Had to run in total stealth for an extended TDY in lands far away. This time I come in peace and wanted to give CLU just rewards for a nice season even if it was one and out again for the SCIAC. ::) Hitting Linfield in thier house in the first round was a tough order for anyone. But they showed well and should be proud. I was most certainly looking for a CLU-Whitewater match up !!
Happy, joyous and a safe holiday season to all.
There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

Heard the CLU LB Matt Allen went down in the game with an ACL injury (apparently he had the same issue back when we played at Trin in CT).

Tough to lose one of your best defensive guys smack dab in the middle of a play-off game.

Hopefully he'll have a quick and relatively painless recovery.  I too am looking forward to seeing Linfield in person next season in T.O.

So OB,
You are behind the Cats now right ?  Cmon Bob be a sport.

Sorry to hear that.

It's creepy how many of the 'CATS opponents have left the game with an injury.
