No PLU highlight?   ;)

Ya - The tapes must have fallen out of either the float plane or the ferry that you have to take to get out of the Washington/Oregon corridor back into civilization.  :D

If the Catdome nation need to check their memory all they have to do is walk through the complex and look at the national championship trophies, or don their sunglasses at gametime to overcome the glare from all of the national championship rings in attendance at Catdome games.  We realize that many of you still look at U tube and hope.  But hope is overrated !!

BURNNNNNNN - Very Nice.

Hahaha can't argue with that one bit ... I have not even a conference ring to wear as I chose to bypass getting one after "sharing" a title with Redlands (I'm sure Redlands guys chose to do the same that year).

Not too often this happens, but I have not even a smart ass response to lend you, so...

The greatest part of that clip  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8FKZBfrsnU&feature=related
is that's me in the beginning on the left of the emerging team door noting all the profanity desertcat1 and I just heard before the door opened.

Those are good Lutheran boys your reffering to - must have been the refs in the locker room or some Linfield fans around the corner or something?

Gig Harbor Cat

National Championship rings just sit on the shelf most of the time anyway K4--As your fans say  Overrated !!  Had to throw that in.
I will say this--  You played the game and that is +k from me anytime my man

I am curious why so many people think Cal Lu will have a big letdown this week at Whittier.  Cal Lu has owned Whittier for 10 years.  I realize Whitter barely lost at Oxy last week and Cal Lu barely beat Redlands but does that make people think Whittier will win htis game?

Cal Lu got their letdown out of their system early this year. Like I have been saying - Look for claremont to be a close game if any until Oxy.

Whittier is a team that has a lot of bad blood with Cal Lu stemming back to the eary 2000's when there were some incidents that both sides were bitter about. Pretty much every year since then there has been reason to really dislike Whittier and with that beat them up for 4 quarters. Don't count on Whittier pulling a fast one on the Lu this week, and look for some young guys to get a chancve to play in the second half.

The other SoCal D3 football team based in the OC continues to play at the level of the SCIAC bottom feeders, like Pomona, La Verne, Whittier while CMS this year is having a year to compete with the SCIAC big boys like Redlands, Cal Who, and Oxy. Great to see it looks like a 4 team race this year in the SCIAC.

Pomona played Redlands tough, but the Sagehens didn't have quite enough and lost to the Bulldogs 38-26. UR led 14-0 in the second quarter, but Pomona scored twice on a couple of Jake Caron TD passes, and Redlands was up 21-13 at the half. In the 3rd quarter, Weston Staubus intercepted Dan Selway and returned it 64 yards for a score, and it was 21-20. After a 40-yard TD pass from Selway to Taylor Irwin, Pomona scored to make it 28-26, but the Bulldogs put up another score and a 4th quarter FG to put it away.

For UR, Selway was 23-for-34 for 5 TDs and 3 INTs, and Brad Crisanty rushed for 102 yards on 18 carries. For Pomona, Caron was 27-for-42 for 209 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. His favorite target was of course Robert Maki, who had 17 catches for 158 yards and 1 TD. Oxy better be ready for another Caron-Maki onslaught next week. Last year Caron went to Maki  for 152 yards on 14 catches and 2 TDs.

Cal Lutheran destroyed Whittier 30-3. No contest.

Oct. 16 schedule:

La Verne (0-4, 0-2) @ Cal Lutheran (3-1, 2-0) 1:00 p.m.
Chapman (1-3) @ Whittier (1-3, 0-2) 2:00 p.m.
Claremont (4-0, 2-0) @ Redlands (2-2, 1-1) (3-1, 1-1) 7:00 p.m.
Pomona (0-4, 0-1) @ Oxy (3-1, 2-0) 7:00 p.m.

It was nice to see Oxy put together a complete game just in time for DW's return.  The defense really shined with a couple of nice goal line stands to preserve the shutout.  Not sure what La Verne has to do to get things back on track.  Here are some images from the game:

Redlands is in fact 3-1 so far this year.

My two biggest questions this year are PLU and Claremont. They both are always tough teams but have consistently landed in the mid to bottom of their conferences as of late. They normally have smaller teams with less athletes, but play hard and find ways to win games.

Will either emerge as a top team in their leagues this year or will they fizzle out???
