K4,

This field will be an epic fail when in 3 more years the color has faded and EWU is playing on a pink field and has to pony up another 500K plus to replace it.  There is a reason why Boise has to replace their turf every few years and why Field Turf didn't even bother in trying to win the bid for the EWU project.

haha! That will be pretty awesome to be a national championship team rocking pink turf... but maybe with a championship under their belt they will have more people ponying up to fir the bill to replace it...

Does anyone have any info on the searches for head coach at these two schools?? I heard that BJ Hammer was applying for the La Verne job??

This... is a simple game. You throw the ball. You hit the ball. You catch the ball.  "There are three types of baseball players: those who make things happen, those who watch it happen, and those who wonder what happened."

D3football.com announced its 2000-2009 all-decade teams. Two Oxy punters, Alex Groh and Cory Ohnesorge, were named to the first and fourth teams.

What is going on at La Verne? Any leads to the new head coach? We need someone to bring some W's back to Leopard land! With the right head coach the Leopards will be contenders!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

This question kind of stems from some discussion on the NWC boards. I've seen (in person or on film) or played against many of the SCIAC champs since 2000. Who was the best? Just something to talk about in the offseason...my vote is for the 06 Oxy team with Collins. I felt that team had a better D than the previous Oxy teams, and Collins was probably the biggest difference maker the SCIAC has had in awhile. But you guys are the experts so let's hear it.

Of course you pick the team that Whitworth beat in the first round and overlook the 2004 Oxy team that won two road playoff games and played Linfield in the West Region Finals.  :D

What was the score of that game compared to the score of one of Linfield's NWC games???  ;)

Plus I take OxyCollins as a Senior over sophomore OxyCollins...but that's the whole point, it's all up for debate/discussion. I'm curious to see what the SCIAC guys think about 02, 03 Redlands vs. 04, 05, 06 Oxy vs. even 10 Cal Lu.

I don't know (509)...watching Linfield destroy teams that year all of the a$$ whippings just blended together.

Only one team gave you guys a game at Maxwell. I thought you guys held yourselves to a higher standard. Only Lewis and Clark considered an 11 point win "destroying" someone. No playoff game was even close until UMHB...

Yes...congrats on losing.  Did you guys put a ball in the Rat trophy case saying "Gave National Champs a game before losing like the other 12 teams they played."?

Touche...just don't forget who helped blow up your blog  ;)

Easy Fellas ... This is the SCIAC board  ;D

I would put the 2006 Oxy team up there, their D was the best they have been in the last decade that year and obviously Collins was ridiculous at that point. But (of course), I think the 2010 Cal Lu team could beat any of the previous listed teams, and 2009 team would be competitive in those games. I know none of the teams I played on were at that level but 2006 we were about 5 yards short of beating that OXY team, and ended up losing 3 conference games that year including against Claremont, so it is tough to say...

D O.C.

I can still see that field goal sailing, sailing, sailing                                                       short.

I can still see that cloudburst that lasted all of 68 seconds at the wrong time for the home team.

Someday when I'm old I suppose the two memories will mesh. Not now,Kingsman4.
