River,

No doubt at all that North Central will be loaded from top to bottom. Redlands will have quite the test in facing a top five national football program.

On the other hand Redlands is coming of an 8-1 season and has a good core of players returning.

Also, the game will be played at The Runner so it should be an interesting matchup to say the least. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

RFB,
I agree that the matchup will definitely be worth following.  Do you know the background on how the game was arranged with a top-5 midwest team, especially since some of the folks in the NWC (except Whitworth) say they have trouble scheduling games with Redlands?

I know that North Central started feeling a sense of urgency in December or January after Cornell unilaterally cancelled the 2011 season opener, leaving NCC with two open dates in 2011 and no willing opponents among DIII schools in the midwest.  A Coe/NCC opener was reportedly in the works, but Coe offered only 1 game, while Redlands was interested in 2.  Both Redlands and NCC are members of the Association of New American Colleges, so the presidents know each other - might they have talked about a home & home agreement?

However, it's great to be able to see a team like NCC in Southern California.

My respect  also to Redlands for scheduling NCC as well.

Consensus Draft Service, whatever it is, has come out with its 2011 DIII Preseason All-American Team.  CDS apparently doesn't believe a left coast exists as only two west coast players are named in its first two offensive and defensive teams (Cal Lu and Oxy), and only one as an honorable mention (Oxy).  Apparently the Pacific Northwest does not exist for CDS as there are no selections, nada, from the Northwest Conference.

2011 CDS Division III Preseason All-American Teams

Of course it could be that the SCIAC has overtaken the NWC in football superiority.  Parity or better for the SCIAC may be good as it will allow the Bulldogs and others to now answer the phone when the scheduling call is from a 503 area code phone number.   ;)

Interesting. Looks like Wesley should not be scored on until they lose to Mt. Union or Whitewater in the quarters.

Last year there was an O-Lineman from CLU on here (CDS) that had never played a down, and to my knowlege still hasn't gotten any minutes... Not sure of their process but doesn't seem like they are a very credible source for D-III anyway.

k-4 ,I think it was Gerber. dont recall how much pt he got but lost about 50 lbs(335-285).he was a very nice young man who my son really liked. by the way,the left side of the line this year with the te could be over 900 lbs. i look foward to seeing what they could do.

Pat Coleman

The Otterbein guy on their list isn't back this year.

Yep I remember him, looked like a beast in Spring ball a year ago but not sure what happened during the season. What all returners do we have on the O-line? Any newcomers that are adding some potential?

cludad

all the offense returns, and only 3 left from the d. there might also be some returners who missed last year coming back. this should be a great year for clu ;D

Hi everyone, haven't been on in a while, law school would do that to a person, but I have noticed some interest in Dan Selway's overseas play...

Accordingly, here is a video link:

You can watch the construction via a live webcam:

The progress has been significant since I saw it in June, apparently they missed some time due to weather back in the winter and have upped the crews to make up for lost time. At this rate I would hope that it will be ready to roll, but they still have a long way to go in a short period of time. Going from Mt. Clef to Moorpark College will not have the same luster....
