I hope the news is not true. Losing anyone through death is awful news but at that age it is tragic. I'll hold out hope that this is rumor mill information until there is more confirmation - no disrespect on your sources K4.

Kingsmen 4 would never submit false information so you can rely on what he posts !
This would be a big story somewhere, and I can't find any.  When did this all happen?
I'm sure Pat or Keith are checking.

Unfortunately, it is true.  Andy passed away from a heart attack on Monday while working out on a treadmill in Florida.  I have seen only one small blurb on scout.com from a Seattle station KJR reporting it, but I know several former Oxy players and good friends of Andy who are in absolute shock and mourning.  More details will probably surface shortly.

Terrible news and definitely shocking. He was a phenomenal player and was a true asset to Occidental & DIII football. My condolences to his family and all who played with him and supported him at Oxy.

RIP Andy!

Very sad indeed.

Sucks man. His poor wife and family must be besides themselves. Hold your loved ones closely and leave no words unspoken.

I was just sent an e-mail from a former Cal Lu teammate, who's brother played center at Oxy with Andy Collins. It stated that Andy has died of a heart attack at age 27, just 10 days after getting married.

One man team. Best player on the field. Greatest QB ever at Oxy.

What a sad day. RIP.

This just isn't fair.  My heart goes out to his family and all of his former teammates.  He may be gone but will never be forgotten.

Jared Charity former teammate to Andy Collins during my last two years!  I had the privelege... scratch that honor of being his left guard during the 2004 and 2005 season!  Andy was not only an amazing leader, friend, QB, but all around person.  I have talked personally to a large number of teammates as we all try and cope with this loss.  I know that a large number of us are meeting up in Pasadena Friday night to cheers and pay tribute to a fallin soldier!

Words can not express how much my heart is breaking for Andy Collin's wife, family, teammates and the entire Occidental family. They are all in my thoughts and prayers.  May God give them some level of comfort over time because there can be no understanding of such a tragedy.
