Luke Collis on the first team over Chad Hurst is laughable at best.

Spoken like a true Bulldog.

Passing per game: Collis 304.6 ypg (1), Hurst 215.1 (3)
TD passes: Collis 28 (1), Hurst 19 (T2)
Pass efficiency rating: Collis 135.2 (1), Hurst 123.7 (4)
Total offense: Collis 306.3 ypg (1), Hurst 285.6 (2)

Collis did more with less. Congratulations, Luke.

This is a tough call.  Hurst (IMO) is a better all-around QB, but Collis had better passing #'s.  The one stat that really stands out to me is Hurst leading UR in rushing while Collis only picking up 16 yards rushing on the year.

There are always going to be disagreements and comparisons but this might give some good talk for the off-season.

Not to mention:  Luke Collis, SR vs.  Chad Hurst, JR.  I'm sure they say that this doesn't matter but we all know it is plays into the decisions.  What I don't get is why the offensive player of the year can't also be the the first team QB(?)

Oh and props to the SCIAC for doing this right and not just giving everybody a spot like they do in the NWC.
Go Cats!

Collis had 120+ more passing attempts than Hurst in conference play alone. Hurst also had almost 700 yards rushing and 7 touchdowns to go with his passing numbers. Redlands had a very good year this season and a big reason for that was the QB play of Chad Hurst. He deserved the first team spot and to debate it is a joke.

No debate on the dominating presence of CLU on the list though? I agree with that ;D

K4---BOTH Collis and Sweeney completely shut down by CLU defense----BUT PUT UP HUGE NUMBERS against other teams.Their game stats came against 2nd/or third CLU teams. ;D

Saw both of them play twice this year and, in my view, this was a pretty easy call.  Numbers favor Collis, as OxyBob has observed.  Beyond that, if I were putting together a team comprised of the other all-conference players (rather than the teams that Collis and Hurst actually played for), I'd want Collis under center.  No question.

Congrats to Salz and Jolly on first team honors, and to Mills, Chiang, and Jiwanlal on second team.  Go Stags.

Hey K4 and other CLU fans...tell your boy Steve Brazil to stop taking nude pics of himself on his cell phone.

CLU football is about to be famous for something other than losing to Linfield
