while its a couple months away from this, who should contend and possible knock clu from the perch? i know its early but the board is slow.(please give reasons )ill start ,clu returns 8 o,7 d...all the wr return , they just need someone to get them the ball.. new rb while only 5"5 is fast and elusive, more so than mosier. D seems to be the big ?

The offense returns 8?  I remember 3 of the offensive linemen that started for them were seniors last season.  They might have missed a few starts but unless two of those guys are back I'm not sure how CLU has 8 offensive starters back.

Regardless...besides Redlands I don't see anyone in the SCIAC touching CLU in 2012.

ok cat,6.5 starters, alot of o line under classmen got  a ton of pt ,i myself worry about the upcoming year ,new qb and lbs put a big ? in how well we do.

IMO, I think the biggest questions early on for CLU is at Cornerback.  Those two guys that just graduated were darn good football players.

very true,we have some young talented dbs and a couple jc transfers, dont know if any can be shut down like jbh or luis.

We have 5 returning receivers that have been starters in the past 2 years. Lot of talent there ... IT will all start with #4 though.

Only if there is a QB to throw it though.  Any idea who that QB is going to be?
Go Cats!

my guess is its between shultis and ramay. clu has some pretty good incoming fresh. but highly unlikley any of them will get the nod.

McMinnville High School's Head Coach (Linfield's hometown) Jeff Kearin is leaving after two seasons on the job and taking an assistant coaching job at Oxy.  Kearin is a long time California resident and former HC at Loyola High School and Brophy College Preparatory.

I thought after Widolf was let go at Oxy, the new head coach said he was going to keep the rest of the staff intact.  It seems other than the coordinators, a lot of the assistants are new.

Anybody have any idea if Oxy will have any "transfers" this season?  Isn't that what started the whole thing that got Widolf fired?

How come you seem to know more than any of the Oxy "insiders" who post here?

Per http://www.footballscoop.com

Occidental (D-III - CA): Update on the staff at Oxy. Several new hires including safeties coach Kevin May, running backs / special teams Jeff Kearin, Robert Hartenfels as corners, Lance Fauria at tight ends and Jim Lynch to coach the offensive line. Also, Justin Luthey has been promoted to defensive line / director of football operations and Ed Park has added recruiting coordinator to go along with coaching the receivers.
