OK Rockcat, I understand that...I have not talked about it...I have not bashed anyone or called anyone out....I lost all my points and went in the hole!!!!!

I really dont care, just having fun witht he situation.  Trying to get someone to post on the board.  Its not like Im being graded or publically scrutinized.

My prediction....Redland beaTs Oxy and Cal Lu and goes undefeated in the SCIAC.........OK  ....BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!

Rockcat, other than the last post when i say ...I cant figure this karma thing out.....I didnt mention it for 15 posts.........i just counted.....I was just trying to figure out why one would lose  points when one doesnt say anything bad about anyone........

Ok Dawgs, let's see if I can help out.  Here's my general understanding and experience.  Please note that there are others way more experienced than I.

1.  You get to give or take karma once you hit 200 posts.

2.  People GIVE karma to comments that contribute to the community, that add something to the dialogue, that are entertaining, respectful, that are well thought out (that's on our boards and the NWC boards based on my perceptions).  Others, like the Minnesota board, I have no idea, some of those guys have karma through the roof.  Not sure what's going on there.

3.  People TAKE (or give negative??) karma on posts that are flaming, stupid, whiny, bitter, disrepsectful, a waste of space, or otherwise don't contribute to the community.

I cannot yet participate in the karma exchange.

My impression, however, is that your repeated allusions to karma make you appear rather needy and whiney . . . "gimmee, gimmee, gimmee" as to karma.  And we all know that on these boards, as in life, karma will come on its own . . . in seeking it, you will never find it.

So get zen dude, post your posts, add to the discussion, use the edit features and learn about the community.  It takes a bit of time.

And don't worry about the karma . . . it'll come . . . and if it doesn't, remember it won't buy you a beer or a coffee.

The only risk is if karma gets too low, you could get bounced by the gods of the board . . . but your posts don't suggest that you will suffer that ignominious fate.

Oh, and I'm guessing that your "go dawgs" followed by "beat linfield" will cause you to take a few hits from our friends in the NWC.  They take their football VERY seriously . . . and given that Redlands finished 3rd in the SCIAC last year . . . the call out to the 'Cats may cause them to see you have possessing a bit much hubris for which punishment must be exacted.

Hell, if I could I'd probably ding you for predicting Redlands over Oxy . . .

OK,  so by supporting your team on the board you get dinged....all right I get it.....

If you predict your team to beat another, you get dinged...ok I get it.......

If you have an opinion that cntradicts anothers opinion you get dinged....ok I get it

What can you say that doesnt get you dinged?....I dont get it.

I've read the NW board and all they talk about is Linfield and how good they are.....why dont SCIAC fans ding them??

I dont think I bashed your Cats....I think I said for the dawgs to win the SCIAC AND THEN GO BEAT LINFIELD.......hell, I dont even know who Linfield is!  My definition of bashing is bad mouthing a team or individual, I didnt do that......
When I bash a team you will know.......

I was just bringing up the karma thing for fun, a joke, for amusement.......because the board is so slow. So have your fun with the newbie, I can take it!

When a Redlands QB goes to the NFL, then you can bash top ten teams.  Too bad your Wabby kid is only freshman and not eligible for the draft yet.  I'd stay off of Linfield, seriously the cats would smash the dogs.  Try and beat Cal Lu before you take on Oxy or Linfield.

Just remember I said it first....the kid is going to be good, very good, remember, I mainly posted his accomplishments....in fact I ran into his dad in church on Sunday and congratulated him on his son's MVP trophy from Saturday night and also congratulated him on his son going to Redlands.....his only respnse was " Louisville is calling again, I dont know what will come of it yet" 

So Leo boy....we will see what we will see, how is that for a profound statement?
