Also like to express very best wishes to Eric Rogers in whatever career path ahead for him now.
There couldn't be a more deserving All-SCIAC O-Player of the Year.
Eric displayed extraordinary skill and charisma in every Cal-Lu game I got to see, and he has made our conference look real good during his time on the Cowboys' pre-season squad.

He should keep playing. Sometimes it takes more than one camp.

Indeed!
For another option, now watching a lot of CFL due to Oxy's Justin Goltz seeing action at Winnepeg, and I reckon Rogers would quickly build a strong "resume" there.

D O.C.

Hell!  I gave him a year to build up those calves.

Espn site projected Rodgers to be place on the practice squad, ahead of the other rookies.

BTW it looks like the Bulldogs are having a much more physical camp this fall. The pace and physicality is a lot more than last year. Hope it  leads to good things on Saturday, it is always a debate. Many heated battles going on, a lot more grueling and plus the storms have made it more humid than normal. Tough grind, not for the weak of heart. I can not imagine a team better conditioned, maybe just as well but they are rapid fire in getting reps in.

Article in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune about Oxy:

http://www.sgvtribune.com/sports/20130827/pcc-occidental-begin-practice-for-football-season

From the article:

QuoteThe Tigers' ground game was practically nonexistent last season and Semones admits it will be hard to run the ball again this season.

"We're not out of the woods with the running game," he said. "To run the ball, you have to have to guys up front. We had only five offensive lineman for spring ball. We're not going to be an upfront physically pound the rock team. We don't have the guys in our scheme to fit that personnel. We have a guy who can wing it, so we have to spread it out and do it with smoke and mirrors."

Oxy averaged a measly 51 yards a game rushing last season.

Smoke and mirrors. That sounds promising!

Pat and company have put out their annual Kickoff publication and opening day is a week away so it's time to get the annual pick'em going again, so head on over to: http://www.d3boards.com/index.php?topic=7447.195

Previous winners:
2012  – Gray Fox
2011  – dahlby & jayhawkdaddy

I guess I will give this a go for a third season. It would be nice to have a few more people play along.

Prior to the first games of the season on September 5, predict the SCIAC final standings. These points will be added to the weekly pick points at the end of the regular season to determine the winner. 7 points will be awarded for picking the correct league champ, 6 for second and so on to last place.

One point will be awarded for each correct non league game picked correctly and 2 points for each correct SCIAC game picked correctly. In addition there will be a West Region game of the week not involving SCIAC teams worth two points as well as a National Game. The picks must be made by 7 A.M. Pacific time on Saturday morning.

I will try to have the updated standings and following weeks games up by Sunday evening. You have between now and 7 A.M. on September 5 to get your final standing predictions in. I will have the first week's games up sometime this weekend.

Chapman fans, any confirmation the injury bug has hit camp and a couple studs are out? My source said one of the RB is out and other hurt. Not sure which kids.
