If you see a guy in his mid 20's passed out near the CLU campus I'll assume it's just K4 trying to drink away the pain of losing to Redlands.  That was some case of one team trying to give it away and the other not having the ability (and a terrible 2nd and goal spot) to do it.

Nicely done Redlands! Tried to give it away but buckled down and got the win. Big game against La Verne next week.

Oh yeah, suck it Cal Who..

I'm so gob-smacked by this upset of Cal-Lu that probably won't get any sleep tonight!  :o

Well-prognosticated by Olddog, who was spot on that despite UR's attack being "iffy", Bulldogs' Dee might stymie the Kingsmen.

Sometime at the Beginning of the season, Perhaps on the pick 'ems I picked RU 1st at the end of the season. Not over till its over, Still have to get by a good Chapman team. I covered my bases though and picked Cal Lu to win the game.

Swede,

You're correctamundo, Compadre------- on the SCIAC Pick 'em Board, you and Olddog are the only guys who have predicted UR will finish in 1st place. 8-)

Well, what a great night to be a Bulldog.

The night was electric, huge crowd. A record 4200 folks were in the house, it has to be CLU's record for home attendance. The SCIAC has had a couple well attended games, with last week Chapman packing 5400 folks in at Wilson Field. I expect the Chapman game on 10-26 at Chapman to be a Full House. CLU's crowd was loud and just maybe the kids had a few too many root beers before the game. Many chants of Bull..Ship...on calls they did not like, all in all made for a fun night. I wish all games were like this in the SCIAC. I think if more folks checked out these game they would be surprised how good the level of play is and at affordable prices if not free.

Back the game, My hat is off to coach Mariana the DC. A very nice game plan. He played a 3-3 stack and took away the post, having the SS sit inside the slot receiver also helped with run support, for the most part we took away slant. The throws that worked for Cal Lu were a few outs, throw backs and shuffle passes in desperation as the QB scrambled. CLU qb ran better than I thought and escaped several near sacks nicely. The DC also played some 4-0 front and took away any inside run, forcing CLU rb chapman to look to get outside around the corner, of which our DE's foot speed made it tough for the CLU monster size line to hook and get outside. Our SS and LB were free to come up and make plays. In short the boys got it done. One can tell the defense fights every play.

The offense did just enough, Tanquery ran hard and the o line opened up a few holes. Bobby Brown minutes were limited, not sure why but he looked ok. I will ask around, he is playing well too. Russell the qb played fairly well. His scramble were important, avoid deep sacks and picking up just enough for a first down. Tanq and Russel need to learn know the situation and do not force the play in the fourth quarter when you are up on the road. I was most please by the progress the O line is making, showing signs of improvement by staying on their run blocks longer, and playing more down hill than the first three games.

One happy but tired Old Dog

.... Is it my imagination or is the SCIAC turning into a "dog fight?"   ;D

Or maybe the SCIAC is a bunch of mutts.  Chapman is in control of their own destiny right now and beginning to scout Linfield web casts.   :P

Mr. Fox,
Right now, Chapman's only concern is watching Oxy's game film. One game at a time.
There is alot of football to be played this season.

Last week OxyBob provided a link regarding Pomona's Duncan Hussey. I spoke with
him before yesterday's game....what a fine young gentleman, and a good competitor...he took some hard hits...got up and carried on. A true D3 player! Good luck to him.

Gads! "A fine young gentleman". For a moment it read like you were talking about OxyBob.

There you go, stirring the "pot" again.
OxyBob is also a fine "young (as compared to me) gentleman".
I'll be up at Oxy next week if he wants to "hang out".
