Well since medical weed is legal in California you might has well go with the "Golden Bong Trophy".  Stoners would object but they would keep forgetting to send in complaints.

Not to mention licensing fees you'd have to pay Lewis and Clark and Reed College. Pretty sure the "Golden Bong" is copyrighted and exchanged after their Ultimate Frisbee matches

dahlby, you and I discussed the Redlands implications but those coeds with paws on their face will remain clueless. Good program win.

Redlands vs. Whittier

Wow my buddy who played in the PAC 10 and I can not remember ever attending a game where 70 points were scored. Honestly I think Maynard should have had all the reserves in late in the first quarter. I was so concerned about injuries, It was 55-0 at the half.
Maynard keeps talking about playing perfect football and it was obvious he was working on all facets of the game.

The Good: Defense continues to play well against the toughest qb in the conference Steve Rivera. The kid took so many shots and kept getting back up. Most impressive performance of the day. My hat is off to him, most would have stayed down. I was glad to see Bobby Brown running well he looked good and was finding the creases. Russell made a couple of his best throws of the year deep and Coach Good ran some nice bootleg action. I was very impressed with reserve Fudge #84. He is a special teams force on Kick off and very dangerous every run back. He had an interception yesterday too. Glad he is coming into his own and has a year left. The D line played well, Steve Locke's number will be down this year at the DE spot but it is not because he has played poorly, teams just avoid going his way. We will need him to play well and if we go to Belton, they wont care and go at him.
Last comment on our defense, they carried us to the SCIAC championship and held an offense down that had moved the ball well on every team in the league.

Congrats to Samson on his pass to one of the team's favorites, Will King...it was great to see the boys enjoy King's TD. What the game and being teammates is all about.

The Bad, well the offensive line really needs to pick it up, too many hits on our QB and MHB d line is a bunch of monsters. When Samson went into the game he was blind sided twice. Clear shots, if by November you are not ready tell the coach send someone else in, this old man would have at least made the rusher break stride. Too much talking and chipping by the back ups from Redlands, Whittier was talking despite getting blown out, just point to the scoreboard and smile. Penalties of this nature are just selfish behavior and it is a team game. Some freshman have a ways to go, there maybe some dice rolled Monday and extra conditioning for a few. I love the fact Maynard pulls the offender.

In summary it was a great day for the Seniors to finish there last home game. It actually rained a bit before the game but was a beautiful day at Ted Runner, cool crisp fall day...similar to the boys in the NW...
Congrats to the team from the East for taking back the league title and the Smudge Pot.

Congratulations to Redlands. Now it's a plane ride to Portland, a short bus ride to McMinnville, get whacked by Linfield, and back to work by Monday morning. Enjoy!

Oxy beat La Verne and finished with a winning season at 5-4. Congratulations to the new HC and his players. Maybe something good will come out of the deplorable way the school treated Dale Widolff.

Can't wait for Ben McEnroe's post mortem blog of the Chapman game. Not so easy when you don't have Eric Rogers to throw to all season, is it?

I know it is your firm belief that the NWC and SCIAC never get second teams into the playoff but I just don't see Redlands making it that far North this year......

According to Pat's projection, they will be flying to Austin with a short bus ride to Belton.  The first playoff game in the UMHB new stadium.

Will any of you guys be coming?  It will be cooler weather by then.  Good BBQ in Belton.

Linfield hosts PLU. As expected, Chapman not given a slot, but Panthers still had a real fine year after yesterdays big win over CLU.

This guy.....ba da boom.

Now Redlands can hang their hat on 'it gets harder to beat a team the more you play them.'

Well the Redlands players get a lesson in economics. Only team flying to their play off game. Honestly given some the other teams that are AQ (east and south teams)  and the two of the pool B wild card teams, Chapman should have got into the playoff or another NW school.
I think the NCAA should re-think the tournament. Either expand it, to 48 teams with the higher seeds getting a bye or require AQ to have some level of SOS, that makes them deserve to be in the play offs. I do not know if the NCAA makes anything on the tournament. I do not know how lucrative the ESPN contract is?
