For our friends making the trip for Saturday's game, check out the weather and plan accordingly!

Be safe and bundle up!
Looks like it is going to be balmy ;)

You folks from Cali making the trip to Central Texas be sure and pack your long underwear. It looks like all of us who from warmer climates are in for weather to which we are not that accustomed.

This going to sound cliche, but be advised that cold, wet and windy in Texas is a very nasty kind of cold. It chills you to the core and can make for a miserable experience. If you're coming make sure to pack a poncho too. As nice as the stadium is, the visitors side is completely open to the elements.

We are not use to the hospitality, I hope your players extend it to our boys. They leave UR before 6 this morning and fly out around 8.
I know they plan on practicing today and it is supposed to rain quite a bit. Quite the experience for the young men.

Holding the ball will be key for the game Saturday, as well as attempting to throw going from north to south on the field, scoreboard side to open side. With the wind blowing steadily in that direction with some cross wind, it could be interesting to see if the two teams will give it a go with a speedy receiver. The bubble screens will also be interesting as UMHB runs those quite a bit. ball could be blown backwards causing issues there.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

What a frustrating game to watch. Special teams was an absolute disaster today. Redlands played hard, that will never be the problem. We just won't be able to compete on the national stage until we get bigger upfront and faster at the skill positions. No disrespect to our current players but what is keeping the SCIAC from recruiting better?

Ralph Turner

Congratulations Redlands on the SCIAC crown and making the playoffs.

Get some Schoepf's BBQ while you are in town.

Move the schools to Texas. :-X

UMHB is a national power.  Success breeds success.  Get the word out about D3 football and about who the champs are, and you will be on your way.  Small schools are just not part of the culture as they are in the mid west and east.  Walk arould LA and you really only see sweats from UCLA and USC.  Go to Cleveland and you see them from schools of all sizes from several states. :)

This is not just a problem for Redlands.

Ralph Turner and Gray Fox,

Many thanks for your comments when some UR fans might be feeling a bit down in the dumps right now. I'm still exhilarated to have won the SCIAC title over tough competition from Chapman and Cal–Lutheran, not to mention Occidental if QB Tommy Edwards hadn't been lost to them so early. Hopefully, Tommy has been progressing well from his injury.

UMHB are exceptionally talented, and UR's margin of defeat was no worse than many others who played against the highest ranked teams today. Hey, it was nowhere near as lopsided as a plethora of FBS teams who've been getting steamrolled this year by, say, Florida State!

Good luck to the Crusaders and the NWC's team to make it into Stagg Bowl, and all the best to the interesting commentators on this D3 football board until next season.

Cheers,
Hem

Let me add my congratulations to Redlands as well.  They played today like a conference champion.  I was especially impressed at the end of the first half.  With not much time left, instead of playing it safe and going in to make halftime adjustments, they were throwing the ball and trying to score which I believe showed their determination.  That attitude is one to build on.  When you come back in September, bring shorts!!  :D
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

Congrats to Redlands on a successful season. Only 32 DIII teams took the field on Saturday, being one of them is an accomplishment of which to be proud. See you next season at The CRUthedral.

Yes congrats to the Dogs, I am sure the boys are frustrated. Stats were even, If you would have told me that we hold them to 300 yards and we gain 300, if would say we had a chance. No way one beats anyone with three punts blocked, one shanked punt, one int returned for 67 yards,  a pooch punt returned for six, and two field goals blocked.

The Cru only shoved it down our throats once and the rest were short field by turnovers. Take nothing away from the Cru they made plays and we did not, they deserved to win no doubt. We actually moved the ball decently just our special team gave us no chance. I am sure Maynard was frustrated. Hats off to the boys up front what a battle inside. The O line had improved.

All we can do at this point is root for the Cru, and their class act. The only thing I can say the Cru needs to do is clean up the defensive chop blocks on the offensive line when they are blocking for field goal and extra points. The only reason one does this is shooting for a knee, since the objective is to block the kick. It is an old trick to get even with an offensive player,  back in the day.

Lastly great job by the Cru broadcast crew, despite being hometown boys, they do give credit for their opponents making good plays.

Did you like being called RedLANDS?
It bothered me.  They've played three times now.  Maybe they will get it right in September.

It's not difficult to do it right.  There is a small Texas town named Italy.  It's the birthplace of Dale Evens.  Everyone knows you pronounce it "It-Lee."
