DawgMom,

Fear The Poet at Whittier had a similar experience as you.

DawgMom...welcome. Next year start earlier, like the first game of the year.

BTW, SCIAC champs get a banner, not a ring. Rings are for national championships   ;D

The players pay for their own conference championship rings.

Kelly Boggs

DawgMom, get the ring; he earned it and you are proud of him! I'd do the same thing.  :) Congrats on the conference championship.

I am glad you enjoyed the hospitality UMHB and Central Texas extended.  :) I wish the weather could have been a bit more normal and hospitable. I'm just glad the rain blew through earlier than expected (I drove through most of it on Friday night).

I look forward to Redland's return trip to The CRUthedral next season. If you come, dress for much warmer temps - upper 90's at least - and don't forget the sunscreen.

DawgMom....people on here know I was Joshing you about a ring simply for a Conference Championship.
LINFIELD has different traditions and expectations.

Don't forget the ice cream sundae!  ;D

DawgMom,
I am sure that you will be hearing from Linfield posters regarding their outstanding football tradition.

The ring policies are generally developed by the individual schools, not the conferences.

Ben McEnroe gave all of his players a team participation certificate for a job sorta kinda semi-well done.

Basically, Coach Maynard was the reason my son chose Redlands. He found my son and started callling him and didn't stop.

At Oxy that kind of persistence gets the coach fired.

Ah, OK. Thanks for the explanation. Not really familiar with Linfield. We haven't played them and I know they aren't in the SCIAC so I understand rules might be different wherever they're at. I'm glad they have such nice traditions and expectations. Are they in the playoffs? If so, good luck, though we really are pulling for UMHB because they are such a class act.
Rumor has it that linfield and redland will be matching up next season.
Go Cats!

DawgMom...kindness reigns over the Thanksgiving Holidays. May your family all be together for awhile and enjoy rolling over the memories of this last season.

Now, LINFIELD and Redlands used to have a sister school tie through their Southern Baptist connection. USED.

They used to schedule each other and met in the playoffs. In 2002 LINFIELD went to Redlands and won 59-21. In 2003 Redlands traveled to McMinnville, OR, (35 miles SW of Portland) and lost 49-10. HOWEVER! they did make a showing on their return trip to LINFIELD for the playoffs that year and managed to lose 31-23.

Since then Redlands would not schedule LINFIELD but tried their luck elsewhere. MonroviaCat heard the same rumor I have that the schools will be playing again the next couple of years.

My take on the ring thing is that LINFIELD has won eight national championships and they get rings. There have been so many conference championships they they get a pat on the back and into the record book they go.

Yikes. Well by "didn't stop," I mean when other schools started to fall off, Redlands stayed in good touch  ;).

Funny, my son was actually contacted by Oxy first, which first started getting him to think maybe D3 would be ok. He was interested, but they didn't really pursue. I'm glad they had a good year, but sorry about what happened to the coach.
That was two coaches ago.  He won so many games over 30 years that the new AD became jealous of the success.

Happy Thanksgiving to all

I have reliable sources UR will be playing Linfield next year at Ted Runner. Hats off to coach Maynard for playing such a tough schedule. Both teams should be semi finalist this year or better.

I will give you all an update on the dogs soon, however I do expect the dogs to be a better team next year than this season, because they return so many players from the offenses side. it will come down to how much better the o line gets in the offseason. They must get stronger. Russell, Brown and Tank will be back.. I do not know how that relates to wins, but I can promise you MHB fans you won't get the special teams gifts next season. Maynard is beyond upset.

Best of luck to the Cats and Cru, Dawg mom...I heard the same thing how much class the Texas fans displayed on the trip. MHB staff displayed the same class too.... Hats off to you all

Wildcat11 and I are very happy to hear the Coach Maynard has finally got his telephone to work. ;)

Something to be thankful for today.
