This is cool (no pun intended).  A couple of Texas lurkers already scouting their first round opponents.
I'm not sure that the SCIAC champ will head to Texas in round 1....obviously there are two weeks to be played but if the committee can limit round 1 to 1 flight it will be a SCIAC to NWC (or vice versa) flight.....  The only way someone is flying to MHB (at least if history is any indicator) is if they have to have 2 flights in the first round.....

The thing is, I just don't know who else they would send to Belton.  Assuming TLU gets passed up as Pool C Bid, I'm just scratching my head at who else is even within 500 miles.

True--I think it hinges a lot on TLU getting a spot--if they are in--then it's a NWC-SCIAC flight...if TLU doesn't get in....then a lot of stuff can happen.....2 flights opens up a lot of options.....they could then send the NWC champ somewhere (or someone else to the NWC champ) and SCIAC to MHB...they could also keep the NWC /SCIAC match and fly a random other team to MHB---it may also depend a lot on who wins the NWC and/or SCIAC---if they are having to do 2 flights anyway they may try to avoid rematches (Redlands/Chapman at Linfield, Redlands at MHB---flipside is Pacific winning the NWC would be no rematches and probably a flight out of Oregon...)  Lots of football to be played still!

Definitely.  As much as I want to know RIGHT NOW who will be playing where (assuming no more upsets), there is also some magic in just speculating and not knowing until the picks are selected.  :)

I'm glad I got some post season discussion started.
I live in Dallas, so I'm always interested in Belton playoffs.

Yeah, what was cold was trying for a field goal instead of a TD.

Cat, Check out Mac's post today. Pretty interesting and I love those kinds of stories. I know he reads this board sometimes because he has made an Oxy Bob reference. It's cool, he made his point. Once again for the record Mac is a quality guy and coach. His ex-players respect and swear by him which is a great accomplishment. I tell high school kids to check out his program and have no problem is my family member want to play for him.  Just a little fun during the boring season.

Regarding recruiting in the SCIAC, it all comes down to who has the best linemen. It so tough in the SCIAC to find quality guys that can help up front as freshman. They really have to build them, most of the time. UR, CLU, Chapman, and Oxy...this season will come down to whose front play the best not the skills, all the teams have some pretty good skills players.

Totally disagree with you. I've read his blog and think he is a smug, cocky jerkoff. He's a perfect fit to lead that program because my experience playing them says the same thing for their players. He thinks his Cal Who program is on the level of Mt. Union when reality says they will be a flash in the pan. La Verne had a similar run in the 90's and have not been heard from since. Can't wait for The Who to go back to their usual third place finish in the SCIAC. Go Dawgs!

Since Mac took over: 5 of 7 years conference champs ... had a streak of 25 consecutive SCIAC wins (including 5 wins in a row vs Redlands) and the schools first 4 NCAA playoff appearances. We have finished lower than 2nd place only 3 times in the last 13 years (1 of which was last year's 4th place finish). So a long flash in a big pan.

Mac is the man, I would be tired of him too if I was a Redlands guy.

BTW if anyone asks, I forgot my password ... Had nothing to do with our record last year. Ready to argue with any of you pillow fighting, excuse making, 90's good times reminiscing, embarrassing white rapper youtube loving, hack Redlands fans anytime.

Someone put out an APB for Kingsmen4, his silence is deafening.

Quite possible he is volunteering at Home For the Dying in Calcutta, India, in the honor of Agnes Gonxhe Bojaxhiu.
Well, it's possible.

No Panther fans have any comments for the game this weekend. I was talking to some Panther students last night and they were very aware of the game. Of course these gals were not sure what they were doing yet this weekend. So OC.

I am doing a Coach Mac and waiting to comment, I need to watch one more game to make my predictions. ...noticed his blog is not so active lately...The question is on his social media moniker he brags about CLU record. Will he add two loosing season in a row and bottom half of the SCIAC..

Less than two more years of Gavin.

Quoting myself here.  TLU is ranked much higher than I thought they would be, so assuming they win out there's a very good chance they will travel to Belton for the first round of the playoffs.

Still, anything can happen.  I'll continue to lurk over here just in case.   :)
