I think La Verne is the only school under 50k barely, UR is 56k+, Chapman, Pomona, Oxy, CMS all over 60k.
NWC not quite as bad as the SCIAC. East Coast some schools like SCIAC, but Midwest and of course public schools 20k plus less.

I think since the State of CA is more solvent, privates can not keep raising prices as fast and they have in the past.

From most recently reported figures to US News & World Report:

La Verne: Total Cost = $51,070; Net Cost = $42,069
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps: $64,337; $49,570
Occidental: $63,224; $42,973
Chapman: $61,814; $52,389
Redlands: $55,896; did not report
Cal Lutheran: $51,170; $36,853
Pomona-Pitzer: $63,320; $45,333
Whittier: $55,672; $33,153
Nationwide D3 average (private-only): $45,836; $33,487

It's not just some schools. There's a lot of them approaching (or vastly exceeding) $50k annually. How this affects the quality of the field though... minimal in my opinion. Costs are rising at every level. The athletes who want to play will still find their way to D3.

For what it's worth, the most expensive school in the country (Denison) is in Ohio, and the Midwest has their fair share of $60k+ schools, they just aren't all in the same conference. U of Chicago and Carleton come to mind.

What does total and "net cost mean" ? Not that it matters but Hansen numbers are wrong, I just checked UR and Chapman and both over 60k all in...
I bet the parents wish they paid Hansen prices. Does not change the point, of which I agree.

Total Cost = Tuition + Fees + Room + Board
Net Cost = Total Cost - % of Students Receiving Aid * Average Aid Award

ULV is going to raise tuition by about 4% a year for next few years at least.

Higher the GPA, the more award money students / players receive.

ULV has the advantage from the financial standpoint and admissions standards. Since they are lower than UR (stingy aid), Chapman (stingy), Oxy (good aid), CMS, PP, ...hence a kid with a good SAT score can go to ULV and receive more aid or for players that can not get into the schools I listed can get in. It is what it is...no worries just facts. It should be this way, not all kids are the same and I think ULV does a good job and presents a great opportunity for kids that should and deserve to be in college.

UR has a goal by 2020 to have equal Hispanic and whites enrolled, complaints have started from a financial aid standpoint, interesting perceptions going on. I really see UR moving to the middle of the pack in all sports. The president has far different priorities and sports are not one of them. They still want Maynard to recruit 60 to 70 males every year, which is so ironic and contrary to their stated goals...Money talks in the end.

Leo what is the outlook on the team ?

Gotta have the Cali guys check out the Texas schools, there might be some opportunities they might fit into. Being a west coast guy (OC) transplanted to Texas I miss the beach, but that is all, oh and great Mexican food (I hate texmex) My first wanted to go to my Alma Mater out in Cali but found UMHB and never looked back and it's pretty reasonable. I mean, if your looking at playing ya'll might as well look at all opportunities, alotta good programs and schools out here. This season will be one off the chain, with Linfield in the schedule, I'd love to see more Cali/ Texas interaction for the season, my watch schedule  goes east coast/ UMHB/ then I end the day watching either Chapman or Redlands, it's always good to see the west coast on the bigscreen.

It has been 20 years since my last football season at Redlands, but camp gut always makes an appearance around this time of year.
