130+ all four years I was there. I would say 75-80 of those were strong players, the rest were fillers to hit admission numbers. Camp usually cut that number down to a 100 or so before we were done.

My final conference pre-season picks...1 to 4, could easily be reversed. I think 5-2 team might go to the playoffs.   I doubt anyone goes undefeated.

1) Athena's...Return most of team, no depth but some really good players at D line and DB, got really lucky against UR and Oxy...with Target on back will loose at least one game, Play UR at UR...UR will be gunning for them
2) OC Panthers, Still some kids left from two really good recruiting classes. If O line matures they will be tough. Play fast, could slide to 5 easily, depth issue ....
3) Dawgs...Lets see how hard the O line work in the summer. If they stayed overweight could slide to 5 or beyond. Need new QB, but depth at all other spots the best in conference, Defense could be as good or better than three years ago
3) Regals...A lot of kids have experience, much like UR...Could go to #1, new OC, my most improved team this season
5) Leo's, lost a great class of kids, d Sparks was their team. He was the real deal. Need new QB too...program is a lot better than in the past
6) 66k Protestors (Oxy) ...No depth, lost RB, d front and o front, not good enough to be champs, QB is tough and don't take lightly
6) Mighty Pen's, unknown, but no reason they cannot get talent with Admission standards and best aid in conference
7) POC College, Formerly PP....Too busy renting apartments out, I wonder if the root in the east end zone,  still there?

Unless it's Chapman then they will probably be 5-4 😉

If any of you have Netflix I highly recommend watching the docu-series called Last Chance U.  It's about JC Football in Mississippi and it shows the different mentality of the kids in JC compared to D3.  The language gets pretty rough but if you can make it through that, it's a pretty great series.

Language couldn't any rougher than Game of Thrones.

Hello, by chance are there any SCIAC fans interested in participating in the West Fan Poll this year? I might be down 1 or 2 guys this season, and would love to have a representative from this conference.

If interested, please send me a personal message.

Much appreciated  :)

ULV has the advantage from the financial standpoint and admissions standards. Since they are lower than UR (stingy aid), Chapman (stingy), Oxy (good aid), CMS, PP, ...hence a kid with a good SAT score can go to ULV and receive more aid or for players that can not get into the schools I listed can get in. It is what it is...no worries just facts. It should be this way, not all kids are the same and I think ULV does a good job and presents a great opportunity for kids that should and deserve to be in college.

UR has a goal by 2020 to have equal Hispanic and whites enrolled, complaints have started from a financial aid standpoint, interesting perceptions going on. I really see UR moving to the middle of the pack in all sports. The president has far different priorities and sports are not one of them. They still want Maynard to recruit 60 to 70 males every year, which is so ironic and contrary to their stated goals...Money talks in the end.

Leo what is the outlook on the team ?

I do know they are working hard all summer with conditioning.
Camp finished up and onto Puget Sound week to begin the season.
OL looks to have some studs and decent depth, DL lacks depth, QB is a battle, secondary is solid, LB are fast but lack experience. CMS, with all those returners, look like the team to beat. This should be a very balanced league. I dont think anyone goes unbeaten here.
