Why does that match-up conjure up an image of a male lion pacing in his cage as the caretakers arrange the meat outside?

Lions can be killed, just need to land that first blow to make it bleed.

Yeah! Go for the eyes!

As long as I'm being absurd, how about we both win our games and LINFIELD has to travel to Redlands?

Whatever the outcome to the Redlands U./ UMHB game, I think the experience will be awesome for the Bulldogs, they travel, play in a great stadium, for the fans at home the broadcast/ stream is first class...so form up your fans at home for a watch party, cast it to the big screen and enjoy. Sure you'd love to play at home before your fans, but if I were to not have that option, this is a great location to play in.

Plus for all ya'll bulldogs, I have a soft spot for Redlands, my UMHB Sr. Daughter was born in Redlands, plus I played against many friends who were at Redlands back in my college athletic days, that's my 6 degrees to Redlands.

Be safe ya'll....

Once again the SCIAC got worked over by the NCAA (LF now knows how it taste too) , if UR does not turn the ball over they are 9-0 and maybe this trip does not happen. The CLU game looked much like Trinity game, just UR did not run out of time.

I thought UR has a fair chance against LF, if they could generate a couple turnovers, LF had an off day and little luck. UR defense and offense are better than the last couple times they played LF, and LF is not the same team as last year. I would have had the dogs as 14 underdogs. I think the dogs are 30+ point underdogs to MHB. They are not as big as the past seasons, but the quickest team I have ever seen play D3 football. They have a stud in the three tech at tackle that almost stops inside run single handed. They stop inside run with only 5 men. Their defense is fast and I am afraid we will have zero running game, especially since we lost our number one back. Eventually the short field will catch up to us, just like two years ago. On offense they run what looks like power but has an RPO twist to it. They are just very well coached, basic but quick and athletic all the way around.

It has been a nice season for UR, looks like Maynard has straighten the team's attitude out, new strength coach has paid dividends, and recruiting should go pretty well. UR will be in the top three of the SCIAC for a while. They loose a lot on defense next year but the rotation was deep this year so by league they should be ok.

I'm really not sure how the SCIAC got screwed over but until the SCIAC becomes competitive on a national level, they are going to get zero breaks from the NCAA.  Cal Lu hosted a first round game a few years back and got absolutely stomped which didn't help the conferences reputation.  UR getting sent to UMHB has more to do with them (UMHB) not getting matched up with a conference rematch than it does anything else.

Night and day difference from last years team. This team played with a pissed off attitude, which is classic Maynard and signature Redlands football.

That would be nice, but not going to happen.

Go Poets!  lol

Program has sunk to below rock bottom. They used to field some competitive teams, but the product they put on the field this year was embarrassing. I went to the Redlands game at Whittier and could not stop shaking my head. The support for their program is apathetic in all facets, including their stadium, which needs a major facelift.

Jack, another way of looking at it...Basically because of money, UR will always have to play a top 4 team. This year UR had a good chance of not playing a top 4....
