This season the start date for camp has not changed but it is predicted to be moved up in the future and hence more days a school has to pay for 100 players room and board.

Sounds like you ought to listen to our March podcast. Not sure who's doing the predicting.

Just your friendly offseason reminder, Cal Who?

Is Coach Mac still blogging?

Not sure, but he doesn't have much to blog about. He sure can't be his usual snarky self, because that requires winning something.

I think he gave this up a season or two ago.
Go Cats!

Coach Mac said follow him on twitter. I really do not get his team's decline.

Two schools in this conference that should be good every year is CLU due to admission requirements, great facilities, generous aid, and JC transfers. Claremont should be the other team. Great Facilities, generous aide and an academic program..."mini Stanford model" ....graduates leave with six figure jobs.

There's just a limit to your pool of players and applicants if you are CMS. You can be good, and last year I thought they were a pretty good team, but eventually you run out of your pool of recruitable players.

Gray Fox

Oxy was good for many years.  But that ship has sailed far, far away with the current AD and coach. :(

At least they have an art gallery to hang out in.

CMS has been the most dominate athletic program in the SCIAC for years (see SCIAC website, overall) , UR a distant second, and UR is loosing ground since our new president is more worried about the white walls of the school not offending anyone. Most sports it takes a couple really good players to win, such as basketball. However I think if CMS devoted more to recruiting nationally they could land a few more good players to get them over the hump. They need to steal a few smart kids that are not good enough for Stanford or Duke but do not want to end up at a lessor school to play ball.
CMS has the money to do it too. The school can become a Stanford like model in D3.

W&L is the same way in the ODAC. The ODAC has an "all-sports" winner trophy for men's sports, women's sports and combined. W&L absolutely dominates those trophies year in and out. But neither W&L nor CMS, outside of a few spots, are really national competitors. I would say this is especially true in football. You just need way too many kids from a small pool that is being split too many ways.

Any school in the SCIAC or ODAC  like LINFIELD where 70% of the students participate in D3 sports?
