How is Oxy going to recruit is the question. Any player that is decent will have options, and Oxy would be last place I would go. Unless they have a specific education program that other colleges don't, this stink will be attached to the program for a while.

A large amount of financial aid.  That would be the only thing

the black and orange of Hendrix College offer honorary fandom to the Oxy orange and black, too. A rigorous liberal arts college too, just add some good southern cookin' during tailgating and a lot of "y'alls"...

Agreed. That might be the only way they compete for players, but will they?

Lewis & Clark got players and new programs gets players -- there will also be the allure of playing time being available, at least.

OxyBob might know the answer to this, but I'm wondering if basketball isn't affected by the same philosophy.

Wins and losses have dropped, even though the coach is the same.

Thirld World is now in San Bernadino. Next home game, stop by.

"San Bernardino, what a sh*thole!"

Fontana visitors bureau

From the San Berdoo website:
"From the day in 1810 when Franciscan missionary Father Dumetz named the area San Bernardino to the present, San Bernardino – nestled south of the San Bernardino Mountains and west of the lower desert – has been recognized for its scenic beauty and strategic location...Today San Bernardino has emerged into a modern urban community with a bright future. The enduring spirit and vitality of yesterday's pioneers are still evident and reflected in the pride of community."

Maybe it can continue emerging and soon be just as nice as Fontucky...

Or you recruit with the playing time angle.  You can go to Oxy and maybe play as a freshman, sophomore for sure.

And there is a chance your AD could come and give the team a dressing down!

Might not be a bad thing if she was hot.

She is.  I do not think her wife would appreciate paying the AD that compliment though.

Hey ohh! There goes the possibility of one of the players claiming #metoo. Guess they will have to rely on other means to get the man hating AD out of there.

I don't think this is going to be a huge problem with the right coach and recruiting. "Play for us, you'll play, and you'll be the ones to re-start this tradition!"

I remember Huntingdon coming to Wabash in its first year (2003), and lost 61-13. But they had some sparks, and by 2005 went 7-2. They went to the playoffs in 2009.

It won't be easy, but it can happen.
