Who will Collins have for receivers?

Here's a quick run down of the returners for the Tigers.  Oxy will also be looking to the incoming freshmen class for help - somewhere around 8 recievers will be coming into camp in August.

Mike Winchell (6'2" 210):  Senior leader of the recieving core.  Has great hands and is an excellent route runner.  Backed up Josh Jones the last two years and is ready for the ball to be in his hands.

2005 Stats:
GP  No.  Yds.   Avg.  TD  Long   Avg/G
9    26   306   11.8   4    32      34.0

Nick Weiss (6'0" 200):  Another Senior reciever; ineligible for part of last season but should be returning for the Tigers.

2005 Stats:
GP  No.  Yds.   Avg.  TD  Long   Avg/G
5    7      49     7       0    10      9.8

Rocky Ciasulli (6'1" 200):  Contributed as a Sophmore last year and will be a stand out this year.  Not a burner but a good possesion reciever.

2005 Stats:
GP  No.  Yds.   Avg.  TD  Long   Avg/G
8    26   448    17.2   5   50      56.0

Mike Adams (5'9" 150):  Undersized Junior that is illusive while running routes and an excellent downfield blocker.

Matt Andersen (6'0" 200):  Will be a threat as the starting RB coming out of the backfield and might also see time at slot.

2005 Stats:
GP  No.  Yds.   Avg.  TD  Long   Avg/G
9    8      49     6.1    0    15      5.4
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

Sabretooth Tiger

Oswald,

From your descriptions, it looks like the Tigers will be looking for a little speed with the incoming frosh?

What do we look like at tight end?

As my grandma used to say...those who live in glass houses should not throw the first stone.

I believe those were 50 cent's intelligent words of wisdom, your Grandma must have ripped it from him!!! Only the young guys will understand that........... Im sorry I couldnt help myself!!  ;D
4 is the smallest composite number, its proper divisors being 1 and 2. 4 is the smallest squared prime. 4 is the only number in the English language for which the number of letters in its name is equal to the number itself. 4 is also the number of titles in a row the tigers will have in '07!! Go Oxy

Gray Fox

Now that Oxy has to defend the Yellow Jersey as well as their title, the whole team will have to step up every game..  The SCIAC should be very interesting this year.

Tight end is a position that is always up in the air for the Tigers at the start of the season.  We don't utilize them on a regular basis.

Here are some of the prospects:

Joey Wolfe (6'4" 220): The only TE listed on the Tigers roster at this time.  As a Freshmen he did not get a lot of playing time last year but his size makes him a good option for the Tigers.

JD Ciasulli (6'1" 205): Spent sometime at TE last year but has moved to OLB.  With the starting spot at TE open he could look to play both ways.

Justin Goltz (6'5" 215): In line behind Andy Collins, the Tigers are trying to find a way for Goltz to get on the field.  He's also been tried out at WR, where his size could make a huge difference.

Robert Theofanis (6'2" 220): Played TE for two years with the Tigers but moved to defense last year.  He could still be an option because he knows the position well.
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

I was expecting to see Wabby from Redlands (or Louisville, depending on the day) as the first, Preseason 1st Team All-American QB in history.  The voters must have missed the scouting reports we've all been blessed to read over the past month.

Also I forgot a reciever.

Jr Joey Coverson (6'1" 200): A converted OLB.  Moved to reciever during spring ball and is doing well.  Fast guy looking for a way to play.

Granny was very, very Biblical.......

I really was directing my post to Redlandsfan not the entire board, we both were trying to find out if there was any official word on you know who....

Sorry to bore you with our interests.......

I am starting to understand this board better...its OK to talk about players if they are from Oxy.....not so otherwise.  I will refrain from public posts about you know who....or......anyone else...I will just read and try to absorb the infinite knowledge that Oxy puts forth on this board, hell I may have my daughter transfer to Oxy now so that I can be one of the Oxy guys! ;)  Then I can talk about Collins until I am blue in the face without the sarcasm. ;D

Gray Fox

dawgs,
This is summer.  Some guys don't post until September.  If you look at most boards, the teams that have the most posters also have the best recent records.  Human nature I guess.

Chill out, dawgs.

You seemed okay when you first came on the board, then you started picking fights with people and begging for karma,

You might get farther if you relax and try to learn to play nice with the other kids.
Two words:  THE STREAK

If you are having a one-on-one conversation you can send a private message.

I don't think anybody minds fans talking up their teams but perhaps people are a little skeptical of your Redlands knowledge considering you've never been to a Redlands football game.

Dawgs,

1.  As noted by Rockcat . . . there is a private message option you can use to carry on private conversations;

2.  I have to admit that I got a bit of a chuckle about the 23 lb. stripper on the barbi . . . for some reason I had a picture of a two foot tall exotic dancer bathed in garlic butter sauce . . . I guess that the earlier comments about $$ and your daughter have driven my mind to the nether reaches . . .  :D ;D  :o

3.  Don't sweat the Wabby jibes . . . I'm sure that there will be plenty of opportunities to talk substantively about him once he shows up, dons Bulldog gear and earns his spot.

4.  As for us Oxy fans being active right now . . . Oxy football has been peaking the last couple of years and we have to enjoy it while it's here given we have no idea what the future holds.  Collins (unlike Mr. Wabby) is a proven quantity and the first Oxy QB to be named a pre-season All American based on my knowledge . . . and he is likely suiting up for his last year . . . so I imagine that Oxy fans are going to do their best to enjoy the ride.

Congrats to Collins for making the Pre-Season All-American team, thats awesome.

Any Redlands posters know who's runnin the rock this year?  I remember last year that little guy ran pretty well, but he's not coming back is he?

If the kid from Crespi HS does go to Redlands, he will make an impact.  He is 6'3" about 235 and is a beast.

I was checkin this dude out yahoo and it says he's 6'3" 205lbs.  I mean he might have gained some weight but 30lbs?  I guess what I'm gettin at is don't build him up too much and lie about height and weight granted he may not be 205 but I don't think he is 235 lbs.

leo...he was 205 as a jr.  he was 235 as a sr.  he needs to lose a few in my opinion.
