The blather Veitch spouted in his letter is all for show. The recruiter, Redell/Mueller/Mora, alumni working group, task force, retreat, and whatever other baloney Veitch has in there will amount to nothing. The football team is dead. This was planned. I predict Oxy will not field a team next season or ever again.

That letter is incredibly transparent.  Oxy's president is laying the cover his backside groundwork so they can eventually throw up their hands and say "Well, we tried." before taking the football program out behind the woodshed to put it slug in the back of its head.

This program is toast.  Or since this is California...this program is avocado toast.

Everyone's thoughts are great, Does the president think kids and parents can't see thru the BS. Lastly kids today think anyone over 25 is old and wont care an ounce about Oxy Legacy, they care about how many uniforms a team owns. A 30+ year successful head coach makes a mistake an emails past recruits, he gets fired. The AD ruins the program, destroys a sector of the alumni and stays, #irony, #protectionism.

Should tell everyone about the future of Oxy Football.

Widolff committed what the NCAA called a minor infraction.  The NCAA banned him from recruiting off campus for a year.  The AD fired him, because she was looking for an excuse.  The AD allows the players to participate with substandard safety equipment, but there is no discipline there.

DW is a great coach, and it's an absolute shame how Oxy treated him. Even in down years for Oxy they played hard and physical, not an easy win at all. When he had it rolling, Oxy was mowing down the conference. Redell, Semones, and whatever the new guys name is couldn't hold a candle to DW. You made this bed Oxy leadership, now sleep in it.

Irony is the AD had the power to boot the HC, but does not have anything to do with Football's downfall, including 1990's gear. Heck my midget team I coached a couple years ago had better gear. What Veitch means by "divisiveness" is speaking ill of or disagreeing with him or the AD about their actions regarding the football team. By Veitch's definition, "divisiveness" is one of the worst things which can be engaged in by members of the football team since it could in theory cause other people to question the actions of Veitch or the AD, and that could cause rancor. What Veitch means by "rancor" is his and the AD's own bitterness, resentment and hostility towards the football team for questioning Veitch's and the AD's actions regarding the football team.
