For a year or two, Oxy can dangle "immediate playing time" to almost all of the recruits, which could be a plus.
Some of them may play two years and transfer to a school closer to home.
Bottom line.  There will be lots of turnover in the ranks.
27 of the roster are from outside California.

This kind of bill has been tried in a few other states, failed too. Tackle football and it rules is not what it was 30 years ago or even 10 years ago.
Would love to see data over the last 5 years compared to 30 years ago. In general I am for most of the rule changes, ref just need to do a better job in general and stop calling the incidental stuff.

In regards to the rest, when AYSO starting giving out participation trophies, it was the beginning of the end for me. So glad this is the last quarter of my life.

OldDog.. lol - I know this is not a FB topic but....Yeah I was in AYSO in the 70's - came back from Britain and got into the league and was shocked, Slide tackling a player and his MOM came out on the pitch after me (Didn't see a shoe though) At that point I said enough, got into club ball...best decision ever...But I did coach an AYSO team my HS senior year... moms were more interested in me giving the kids hugs or telling them how great they were... oh hell no

My friend got yellow carded as a spectator parent, for yelling at the ref too enthusiastically. But, knowing him, he probably deserved it. :)

Youth Coaching, Father.... my son is the biggest kid on the team why is he not starting. He sure is but he might be the softest too...I told him I would make him go against my toughest kid in practice all the time,  if he want to toughen him up. Dad pulled the kid next practice.
My other all time one, this was Midgets (8th grade) ....I pull up and I see a small 110 pound mom carrying a 160 pound kid's gear into the stadium, while the boy walked in holding nothing. I told the kid if he wants to play today grab his gear and I will never see that again...He too was a soft kid.

Those two kids never go outside by themselves because their parents do everything for them. :(

It is this whole climate of everyone needing their own pronouns and safe space.  Football embodies everything that they are afraid of.  Masculine males that are taught how to be upstanding men and fathers.  I am sick of the same politicians saying that young men need better guidance and access to college, yet they want to take away the one sport in their life that coaches act as father figures and help them succeed in life and teach very important life values.  Very hypocritical to me.  Football is the only sport in America that every socio-economic group can succeed at.

The SCIAC Coaches preseason poll was released.  Looks like the SCIAC will be wide open for 3-4 teams to take the title.  Chapman got the nod as the defending champ.  Season is here!  Love it.

I agree with the poll, Chapman has some wholes. UR does too and Maynard says a lot of young starters, and CLU always has talent.
Going to be fun. La Verne is my other Wild Card.

Glad to see Chapman getting the respect they deserve as defending Champs. Redlands and Cal Lu will be true tests. I am sure the young men are looking forward to the challenge.

When you cancel your game against an opponent 2 days before the game is to be played, then it's unlikely that opponent will schedule a game against you the next season or ever again, and you instead end up playing a game in Mexicali against CETYS University.

What's worse, playing CETYS University on the road, or playing Haskell Indians Nation University at home?

At least Oxy has a roster up.  Redlands plays tomorrow and they can't put a roster up?  Let alone a game preview.  Guess football doesn't mean too much.
