LA Times sports letters to the editor included one that said UCLA never should have left the SCIAC so that they could still play CLU, PP, and LV.  It wasn't written by OxyBob.

They would have trouble winning the SCIAC  ;D

Real problem would be all SCIAC having to play them  would destroy SOS for all the playoff contenders.

UCLA wouldn't help attendance numbers in the SCIAC, that's for sure.  Fun week for the SCIAC and NWC as all the schools play each other.  Historically the games have gone the NWC conference's way.  The Chapman/Whitworth and Redlands/Linfield games will let us know who holds the power in each conference this season.

Unnamed source reports during viewing of previous LINFIELD - Redlands film, four players asked to use the potty even after Maynard made sure everyone had a pp break before lights off.
Source says there was one wet spot when the lights came up.

... I'd have to say Linfield is the underdog in this game. Redlands seems to be a well rounded read and the best in10 years. I'd say it's a toss up this weekend although I think Linfiield will win 28-24.  :-X

Nice try Blue, LF is a huge favorite, maybe 10 points. This team has talent, but will it be enough to score on LF. That has been the problem the last 10 years. Our defense stays on the field for 45 minutes and deals with multiple turnovers and short fields. The best defense the last 10 is the 2013 defense (where one kid went thru tryout process and another chose not too despite agents asking) ...This defense is much younger and front six not as good as that team. It the defense that held LF to 10 points in the first half despite like a negative 7 yards on offense and maybe three or four turnovers.
2015 defense is probably better too. It all a blur since the same scenario has un folded every game.
The best RB in the last 10 years has been Crissanty and QB has just played a couple games.
It would be a huge upset if UR won.

Olddog,

I have to agree with Bluenote.    We have an unproven team.     We lost a very good running back and some talented receivers.    Yes, we won last Saturday, but it was not impressive.     Rowan had more yardage than we did!

Redlands so far looks outstanding.    Far better than Rowan.   Your pounding of George Fox and Puget Sound caught my attention.  Plus, two long trips in 8 days will not benefit the Wildcats.

Bluenote is correct.     Redlands with the home field has to be a slight favorite.     This will be the closest game since our first one with Redlands in 1998.

Olddog, This weeks quick pics D3 Keith picks Redlands as most likely upset of top 25 team so l would hardly call it a "huge upset " if it happens.  Your Redlands team looks to be very good this year....don't be afraid to embrace that. lm sure they expect to win.

Yeah I'd like these Linfield guys to set up a book. I'd happily take the Linfield money line if you're gonna make Redlands the favorite.

And while wildcat11 does fantastic work, I have yet to see anything that would lead me to believe this is the BEST Redlands team even in the last 10-15 years. That's not to say they don't appear to be better than the most recent Bulldog iterations, but a Redlands win would be an upset. I think Redlands will play well and if they do win it will be because these two teams are on different trajectories in terms of recent talent/success. One has been getting back on top, the other is losing to Whitworth  :D

We'll be checking out Chapman today also..... and I believe Linfield has lost to Whitworth 1 time in 13 games? That's not exactly a dominate position for Whitworth.
