Since SOS is important to the WC formula and the Losers play, WC and Oxy in the last two games, is UR better off if Oxy quits playing now?

If they win by 35 points or so, everyone will understand.

They are a virtual lock unless they lose one of the last two games...

Impossible for UR to lose to Whittier or Oxy. Whittier has two wins against winless Luther (0-8) and Oxy (0-6), although Oxy claims they're 1-6 because they won a scrimmage against the team from Mexicali.

To answer your question---playing these two is definitely going to hurt Redland's SOS so it could ding them a little in the Regional Rankings.....I think Linfield losing to Whitworth would hurt Redlands more than that however as the CATS would likely fall out of the rankings and reduce Redlands results against other regionally ranked teams.  Several of the other teams at the top of the Pool C discussion will likely see their SOS go up some as they have a least one better than average opponent left on their schedule.  That also means that they have a greater possibility of losing another game which would almost certainly knock them out of  Pool C contention.

So, like I said before, as long as Redlands doesn't trip over their own feet they are virtually a lock for Pool C (at least in my mind).

There is no way UR loses to either team, the issue will be do they decide to break school records or not. This team is better than the 2016 Champs

If they score 60 in both games, they have a chance for a home playoff game.  Go for it, it is not UR fault that the other schools can't recruit.

35-40 points by the half, and let the reserves get some needed game time. If they hit 60 with the backups in, then so be it.

If Redlands gets a home playoff game it will have nothing to do with putting up 60 points on Whittier and Oxy.....  RFB has the right idea---use it as practice time for your 2s, 3s, etc...

There is no doubt that is what Maynard and staff will do, they are in it for the right reasons.  Unlike me as a fan that wants every opponent decimated.

All Coach Maynard cares about when up big, is the players on the field play hard and no mistakes. He is not into running up the score.

Perhaps PC knows the tar is partially caused by this phenomenon.

Alex Raya has four field goals of 45+ yards (46, 48, 52, 56) and is a touchback machine. He also does a great job in punting as well. Not many D3 programs get the quality kickers that Redlands routinely has in the program.

I agree I have been to 5 PAC 12 games this season in person and he is the best FG kicker I have seen, a talent. I wonder if he will get a sniff with the new league.
I have not seen if he can kick the ball off the ground. He is a good punter but I don't see him a pro punter.
