35-40 points by the half, and let the reserves get some needed game time. If they hit 60 with the backups in, then so be it.

Today's games:

Whittier @ UR -- Likely shutout.
Claremont @ Chapman -- CU will win easily.
Oxy @ Pomona -- Sagehens will beat Tigers like a Drum.
CLU @ ULV -- Kingsmen win on the road.

With wins assured the next two weeks, UR and Chapman aim to stay healthy.

Then next 8 days may be the craziest the D3 west region has ever seen. Wartburg lost... SCIAC with two home playoff games?

Redlands will be on the road if selected. SOS will take hits with Whittier and Oxy as their last two opponents.

So here is a hypothetical (for now) to Redlands fans:  With the changes in the rules to prevent first round rematches between conference foes---would you rather that rule didn't exist allowing Redlands to rematch Chapman or are in favor of the rule even though it may mean Redlands heads to Texas in round 1?

I'm in favor of the rule, even if that means a trip to Belton, TX. There was a MIAC poster questioning why Redlands and Chapman were ranked so high in the regional rankings with the SCIAC's dismal playoff record, but a big result of that is being sent to UMHB routinely in my opinion.

I don't have a problem with it, and Redlands was pretty competitive the last time they traveled there. I think this Redlands team is much better on defense, so it would be fun to watch. I would rather they travel to Minnesota or Iowa, but it's not a given they will even be selected.

Assuming UR beats Oxy, what would a team need to do to jump UR in the regional rankings? Has the committee ever sent a 3 on the road in the first round?

It's a good question, but I have no clue. Pat and his team do their own selection when the regular season wraps up next weekend. They are pretty accurate, so we should wait to see what they have to say.

Truth hurts, DOC. The shoe is on the other foot for this season, so you and the rest of the entitled Linfield fan base can pound sand.

Guess we will have to wait until another year or so for the dogs to win the sciac and be sent to the
catdome in sept? That's right it's Chapman's turn this sept ..

2017.  Hardin Simmons was #2 behind MHB in the South Region and got sent to Linfield West #4 in round 1.  Linfield had a significantly higher SOS and both teams only had one loss to MHB.

Big SOS advantage, Linfield was 2-1 vRROs while HSU was 0-1 vRROs.  Despite the ordinal difference in their regional rankings (South #2 vs West #4), the criteria dictated that an HSU/Linfield game should have been played at Linfield.

Teams ranked 3 or higher almost never go on the road in the first round unless they are unable to host (didn't file paperwork, inadequate facility) OR geography forces them to do it.  Hopefully the new rule this prohibiting first round rematches between conference opponents gives the committee the freedom to break things up a little bit better and avoid not just rematches, but also something like Redlands @ UMHB in a first round game, which wouldn't do justice to either of those teams.

DOC, UR fumbled on the 7 and a feisty Whittier team punched it in, O/W its a 45-3 game. Yes Whittier QB is pretty decent and scrambled well. WC offense was a recovered fumble and qb scrambles. UR sat their line backer down on drops and had nose read on passing plays, issue over.
I am glad Whittier is a little better. UR was very flat, and that was more of the issue. CU won by a similar margin and they scrapped with them too.

On the flip side, I do not think LF has figured out how to run the ball yet. Yes I watched a lot of their game. I don't think LF is any better than when I saw them, coach just called easier passes, checking down to your RB etc...

I really hate playing Whittier and Oxy...I wont even bother to go or watch.

I guess you watched anyway.
