That long political post that ended with a comment on football was the only post of yours I've skipped over, olddog.
I was wondering when I'd see a PatPost.

I live in Orange, CA ( DO.C.) and I've taken a Facebook poll every week since March 12 stating I do not know one person in my circle of friends who has contracted C-19. 40 replies today from friends that say they don't know anyone either.

One guy at work got it (recovered, came off a cruise ship - pretty much a guaranteed CV bomb) and the mother of one of #3's school friends also got the bug (still isolated, also from a cruise ship, if I remember correctly).  Being there are fewer than 6400 confirmed infections in the whole country I reckon it's pretty amazing that I'm aware of two of them, although I only know one of them.

I have tremendous empathy for folks that have suffered, I have personally suffered so much death my life that some days I want to crawl under a rock, so I get it. I have given in many ways to help, mostly donations. However how tragic things are we need to move on in some way, and it will be a different way. How much should we damage our economy? I will be fine, my life style wont change, but I still care. I hope everyone realizes that in many sectors unemployment will be in double digits for years, see Goldman Sachs, Co Star and other non biased opinions. Obama's ERA was just 1/3 of what Trump did in one day, and more to come. Between the Federal Reserve infusion of M1,M2,M3 and government spending these desperate acts will rival what FDR had to do in the 30's. This can not be a zero sum game, financially impossible and will ruin the future of our youth with a spiral of debt, and lack of credit worthiness, creating a Japanese model of zero growth. Ask a young person in Japan and now Korea how bright their future has been in their zero growth economy's. I don't know how this is political, this a war on our future for generations quality of life. A vaccine is due next year, do we run this into the ground until then. I say no.

I think there is less than a 50 percent chance their will be SCIAC football. I doubt our governor will allow groups large in the fall, and how do you deal with one player getting it? Do you quarantine teams. It is logical to believe football is done until a vaccine, since D3, D2, NAIA, and JC can not afford an on going testing program. Maybe someone will find a way. I hope so, I am bored on the weekend.

I am in an essential sector, trying to keep people employed for the long term, one of our employees caught it and one of our vendors, yes I was in a room with both but kept my distance and followed our protocol and walk around with hand sanitizer in pocket. However if I don't attempt to keep this rolling, more folks will be out of work and a financial disaster for investors. I really want to be tested to see if I have anti-bodies.

I foresee many universities dropping football and other sports as a result of the economic damage to come. How many families are going to pay the overinflated tuition cost to go to a private school moving forward?

Education is being disrupted as we speak, and many students and their families are asking for refunds for their college experience being reduced to online learning at home. The traditional brick and mortar university was being questioned before this crisis, so how are they going to recover long term.

Families are losing everything they have right now financially. Cheap college will be the primary go to moving forward for those who choose to attend. I just don't see how the majority of private universities survive moving forward.

I agree Whittier and La Verne its not looking good long term, I can see them suspending sports. I think CMS, PP, the Beavers and Chapman are fine given endowments. Oxy I am not sure. UR and CLU are at risk, and I can easily see WC and LV changing formats, becoming a National U type formats.

Many parents will not want to send their kids far distances to attend schools.  So local talent will be sought for both academics and sports.

Going to be interesting, a lot of chatter and tweets about schools dropping secondary sports due to the financial loss of the BB tournament or Football revenue loss. What this does to D2 and 3 recruiting?

Cincinnati dropped their men's soccer program today. The dominoes are starting to fall.

After hearing and seeing our handsome slick back hair Gov (he or she is nameless) on its daily info-mercial yesterday and the follow up from staff....it does not look very good for the SCIAC. If large gatherings over 50 are banned into August, when does practice start?  how can we fly up to LF to win two in a row? the only team I know that could legally practice is Oxy, not sure it would help but a positive of destroying the program over the last 5 years.

Apparently there is some alliance, with Oregon and Washington. I am not sure why but this too would affect NWC too. It was supposed to be about hospital capacity to get us into our cages, now the social fascism has changed its tune in order to maintain control.

Its a shame Chapman can not defend their dual conference championship. I think D3 football is doomed this season. I just don't see Schools having the funds to manage the issue, president's not wanting the liability etc,,,, maybe all sports in 2020 and into 2021. I really hope I am wrong. It is crazy how one country can lie (nameless again) and just destroy the world. How can we not have some negative thoughts toward this nameless country's government. It has ruined our way of life. I think until there is herd immunity or a vaccine, sports maybe out of question except for pro (NFL and Power 5 )....I hope D3.Com can make it through these times too. I even hope Regals fans can get thru these times.

It is very evident that people don't understand the economic toll their lack of actions will take.  The people in power in CA aren't leaders, they are waiting for other states to act before they do anything.  Politics over real life is their moto.  Here's an article from Yahoo about the impact on power 5 campus.  How are the schools going to make up that money?  Bye Bye almost every other sport if football does not play this year.  https://sports.yahoo.com/report-major-public-colleges-could-lose-more-than-4-billion-if-college-football-season-canceled-153214829.html

I watched Governor Newsom's press conference yesterday where he outlined his 6 point plan to open the state back up. No way possible to hit those objectives in less than 6 months. He's delusional if he thinks 40 million people are going stay in isolation that long.

I love what happen in Mich today, and not to be named governor was on the short list for VP candidates.

On will they play football front, one of thing I am hearing out of educators in the high school sector is if kids can go to school together then they should be able to play sports, make sense.
