Supposed to know something Monday, if it goes poorly it will be an S.... Storm. I personally have spoken or heard from a couple dozen ex players, they will most likely not attend or support the school anymore if things go poorly. Many recognizable names in the UR circle. The AD Martinez has lost any respect from the core group. He knows Maynard very well. If Maynard comes back he too will get a ear full right to his face. I feel sorry for the kids they hire to keep calling your house for money. What an earful they will get.
Less than two more years of Gavin.

All, thanks for the support in Maynard. Your responses are refreshing and remind me all humans are not self serving. Myself and my few friends all agree we are so glad we are in the sunset of our life.
In an ERA of single parenting is the norm, the world needs more Maynards. I can't wait for the first game back for Coach.

2000+ signatures in support for Coach Maynard. According to an update on the petition, Coach Maynard has retained legal counsel, and his case will be decided upon by a 3 person panel at the University.

I threw my sig on there...not that it carries any weight. Might actually hurt his cause now that I rethink things  :-\

Given Bethel's reputation, I know that I question anything that you support, hazz

If Maynard goes, 32 years of alumni, donors and future Bulldogs go with him.  Coach has brought so many men into the University through football and brotherhood, paying thousands more than they would elsewhere.  The University is in a bad spot, but the lasting impact of alienating this group of alumni will be far more painful than the outrage of the week social media tweet storm.  It's going to be explosive.  I penned a letter in support of Coach, but I have my doubts about how fair the process is. I don't think he coaches again and if so, I don't donate again.

Well said. Alienating thousands of alumni would not be a good idea, but academics think they are smarter than everyone else and live in their echo chambers. Chances are they make the emotional decision instead of the logical one.

If that were to happen, I can definitely see it would be like when Oxy punted Dale Widolff.

Nightmare scenario. Oxy football is barely off of life support with that stupid decision.

I was thinking that this morning.  I thought maybe Jaime Hoffman had taken a job at Redlands.

Redlands is hurting and they won't admit it.  Supposedly they are going to lay off 5% of there employees, the CFO just quit the other day and if Maynard is punted... UR is in a bad spot.  They aren't the only school hurting.  Small private schools that cost 50K plus a year, tuition only, are not going to be sustainable.  Total cost to attend UR is 70K.

Is that decision you cite one that Maynard is expected to make (for example, resign/retire or be fired?) or is that deadline where the administration makes a decision regarding Maynard?

Yes it is.  Was supposed to be today.

I'm sure you will, but please post an update when it's public.
