So, when is the announcement coming that there will be no sports played in 2021 for the SCIAC?

After deposits are made for second semester for most schools. Who knows what players are still enrolled.

Welcome back, RC.

Thank you.

Some reason I thought of Snoop Dawg this past weekend and wondered if that cheerleader daughter of his ever got married after Redlands.

She was going to, but the wedding was called off once her boyfriend googled Snoop.  Wikipedia had to have three separate entries for his various personas.

On a more positive note, his son, Matt, came back from west Carolina and got a job working for his father.  He is now on track to be a partner in the firm  dawgs go deep, dawg gone it, and Snoop Dawg. :)

Poor kid. It would have been easier to just say my son is a freshmen QB for Redlands, and I look forward to watching him grow with the program.

I bet many kids are going to pass on playing ball and just go to a larger, cheaper university for school.

I have been trying to get a read on if any players left, no luck yet. There has to be a fall out, imagine Whittier and LV its worse. I know of a JC basketball coach working this angle. Telling kids to just enroll in her JC program and save the money, she was able to nab a couple NAIA local players. I am sure JC FB is doing the same and circling back. The irony is it looks like small college and JC wont play this year, per comrade Newsom late catch the falling knife management.

I hope they survive to even field a football program. They might be looking at Oxy and saying let's follow.

I think you can get your point across without the political pejorative. I've had complaints about the posts of this type on this board and would prefer not to delete posts.

OMG....that is sad, glad they still have plenty of free time. Ok Pat, you are a nice fellow I will tow the line and not comment on rather our Gov even has the right to do what he is doing. We will find out very soon when they face Disney's lawyers after the Election. It is going to take something like that event to force the state to change policy so we can be like the others. Clearly this election is not affecting sports in CA. Its clear this is solely about the heath of all. When is D3 fund raiser I would like to help and not see you guys go down?

Election is over, congrats to America... let's hope Dr. Biden and Willy's ex are pro sports. Let's see if our wonderful, dynamic, handsome, consistent and fair leader Gavin Newsom moves Disney forward, post the lawsuit he tragically lost in Nor Cal.

SCIAC has been silent, which is a horrible sign there will not be any athletics. I just don't see how any schools can afford the testing under a protocol program and we get to the yellow zone (Newsom's Metering System, where false positives will tip a county out into Orange Zone)  until at least two months after the States of CA,WA,Or, and Nev approve the vaccines.

Hat's off to Whittier Baseball Players for their efforts to play, on local media.

I am slightly more optimistic about sports in CA, there was not one discussion on covid numbers on the news last night, I think things got better overnight, did I miss something I have been searching twitter all night.  Maybe its likes social media and TV pundits, they just missed the poll mark too....I know some HS in CA, starting Weds are allowing 7 on 7, and other drills if the players wear gloves. Its a miracle.....

Redlands is hurting... CFO leaves in June, Dean of Instruction is leaving for Morehouse College and now the President is leaving higher ed in June.  That is not a good economic indicator...

Not surprised at all. Small, private universities are bleeding money. I'm a Redlands alumnus, and would not send my child there at it's current cost even if I could easily afford it. Very few universities can justify 60k+ annual tuition, and Redlands is certainly not one of them.

1) The current president has battled cancer the last couple years, so I doubt he wants anything to do with this battle. He has led changing the school's culture and forgot about history and donors.
Remember Mike Maynard was dragged thru the mud...now it will cost UR millions down the road as he players become financially seasoned and are of the ripe donation age.
2) Imagine trying to fund raise now, athlete's are some of your best donors. I know of one very prominent former player/donor to Maynard that put things on hold. He announced publicly.
3) The new athletic center is now on hold, for sure.
4) I hope football survives the challenges the school will face. It should but one never knows. I recommend the school brings someone in not so left if they want to make it.

Lastly more big news coming, its not over.

Based upon the students forcing the school to take down all photos of the past presidents, who were white males, I would suspect the next President will be a female and not white. Major rumors circulating at UR as well.
