LaVerne is 'ruggling again. That is something on which we can all agree.

Now as for Dawgs predictions Bob, you're just playing with semantics. He hasn't come out and predicted with complete certainty that UR will win out. That would be bold, although I wouldn't say it would be foolish. Ok, they have struggled. I will say they have played good teams, but won't use it as an excuse. Who knows? There have been bigger surprises in sports history, and I would say anything can happen at this level. They're kids and students, not professional, I mean D1 athletes.... save a few schools at this level. He is just saying we shouldn't assume either way. If Dawg comes out and says "Redlands will go 5-4 and soundly beat CLU," then go ahead and blab about him predicting Redlands to win out. If you really didn't care, you wouldn't bother to comment on it at all.
Maybe you should pick up golf or something, you really have too much free time on your hands to read everyones posts from the last ten years. Every political party plays golf, Bob. Yes even Dems, Greens, Commies, and Facists. What an intolerant statement to say that only Repubs play golf. I thought they taught tolerance for all beliefs, opinions, and hobbies at Oxy? With your free time, take a trip to the Museum of Tolerance in LA. I think they have an exhibit about being tolerant of people's SCIAC predictions.

In defense of DGI, he was only making conversation, just like one of the OXY fans implying it is a "done deal" Oxy will win the SCIAC and be in the playoffs. Although the likelihood is high, it isn't a done deal. As regards EastCoastStag's comment that "anything can happen at this level", with the exception of this same one person who regularly posts on this board, who would have predicted Chapman beating Redlands?

Cute Bob,
You are baiting me again. Sorry, I won't take it. I'm smarter than that. Was that too pithy of a response for you? All your prediction is is spite. Go for it. That is why games are played. Otherwise you would hand the f*cking Heisman to Collins and spend the night trying to convince Drew Rosenhause (spelling) to be his agent since he'll be the #1 pick in the draft. You made your prediction, I made mine. We'll see how it turns out. I am saying right now- IF we bychance win or play close it is because CLU either overlooked us or because we are better than you give us credit for being. IF we get pounded by CLU, then we deserved it and have many a thing to fix.. and rightfully so. Look at that... I took you with a grain of salt.. I am being tolerant of your prediction. (Here is where you will say something to the effect of "want a cookie?" I'll preempt you by saying I am just pointing out the obvious- that I take you with a "grain of salt".)

I apologize to everyone who has ever read this board and/or attended a SCIAC game and has also attended and/or watched a professional wrestling event. I apologize for Bob's behavior and attitude towards you. He professes himself to be a man of the people, a tolerant and non-judgemental human being committed to social justice and who recognizes the value of each and every person. While I personally find professional wrestling to be silly and not entertaining to me, I do not think less or disrespect the person who freely chooses to consume the product. Do not take to heart his jaded posts that drip with sarcasm. He is just an insecure man who finds comfort in baiting others and endlessly ranting in attempts to puff up his own ego. Please professional wrestling fans, do not hold this against the SCIAC or D3 football. Bob knows not what he does.

Any advice as to where to eat lunch between the Ontario airport
and the Laverne campus ? Nothing fancy just a good burger and
a beer would be great.

Heroes - Claremont Village. Good beer. Good burgers.
Montclair Plaza has some shops maybe. Or Foothill Ave in Claremont/Pomona right on the border. There is a dive sports bar I believe. One last one. Buffalo Inn in Upland- Upland/Claremont border on Foothill as you go East. Chili, beer, burgers, wings. Outdoor beer garden.
There is always the BC Cafe in Cmont right off of the 10. Greasy but no beer. If you aren't that hardup on beer, I still say In N Out and suppliment the beer with a milkshake.

I think I have been properly motivated to take in the Oxy-Laverne game today.  No kids soccer, no televised college games I care to see, yard work has been completed, no files I brought home from work and I owe a friend a visit who lives in the San Dimas area.  I haven't seen an Oxy game since the playoff win over St Johns in '85 or '86 and I was last on the Laverne field in 1980 as a member of the very bad Bruce Allen team.  Things certainly have changed for the better.

2pm...
does anyone at home have a cell phone number for anyone at the OXY- LaVerne game that could tell us what is going on?

coco

I don't.
I was wondering if it there is a connection for it on the LaVerne site. I couldn't find one.

Redlands and Pomona is being broadcast over the internet, link up at the Redlands athletic website.

Here is the link:  http://secure.stretchinternet.com/demo/games.php?user=redlands&o=cal_stamp

Score is Redlands 26 - Pomona 7 with under a minute left in the first half.

No Cal Lu broadcast as far as I can tell.

RFB

Redlands 26     Halftime
Pomona    7

Redlands is dominating Pomona. Redlands should have two more touchdowns but turned the ball over both times inside the Pomona redzone. Pomona's only touchdown came on a blocked punt. Overall, a great effort from Redlands in the first half.
