I have a question for you OXY fans. Since many of you call us the pups, can we call you the pussies?

IMHO, the reason why i refer UOR as Pups is because there is a lot of youth on that team. Youth that i believe  will be groomed into dawgs in the near future.

Talk about irony, my reasoning is the same as yours. The reason why I asked to refer to OXY as Pussies is because there is a lot of youth on that team, especially for next year. Youth that I believe will be groomed into Tigers in the next few seasons.

With Coach Owens doing his best at Chapman for his 1st year, it appears that he is doing just fine. The only reason why i bring this up is because he was the coach responsible for always giving Fits to a lot of coaches around the SCIAC. He always did his best to keep whitter in a game until some little things went wrong for them in the 4th quarter. THis same can be said for what Chapman this year. THe games that he and his team have lost are only by a T.D. or few points.

If Oxy doesn't capitalize on those small mistakes by the panthers, this game can turn into another close game. However, I only hope that after this week Oxy will start to go back to its fundamental roots and  basic of playing well sound football.

However I don't think we have to wait for next year. I'm not sure if you're have noticed that these so called Pussies have matured faster than any young team that i have ever seen. You can point out that there is youth, yet, this youth has been responsible for some of Oxy's success as well. I hate to bring it up, but for example, 4/5 young O-line men at Oxy did way better then 5/5 returners that UOR has throughout this year. Doesn't this seem a bit Odd to you?????

I've been watching football for a long time.  This is the perfect time for a Chapman upset of Oxy because of the normal letdown after such a big, close, game, and the fact the "pussies" have clinched the playoffs.

I am not trying to restart the scheduling debate, I just wanted to point out that there's an interesting
article in today's LA Times
about Fresno State's scheduling philosophy.  Food for thought on both sides of the debate.

Browneagle....any woes that UR has suffered on offense were not the cause of the offensive line, they dont drop passes, they dont fumble or throw int's......they have done an outstanding job this year.  They deserve alot of credit...they have open hugh holes and given great pass protection.

I'm pretty sure it was just a comparison, not pointing the proverbial finger.
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

Browneagle64

Gray,
THats what everyone would like to think about for this saturdays game. Yet, like i mentioned once, the tigers will pounce back from a close game and not look back.
I can assure you that playoff implecations do not mean a thing for the tigers right now. I think they are just focusing on getting better 1 game at a time.

Just joking around with you. After all, the pussies did beat the pups this year so you get the last laugh.

In all honesty and not making any excuses, the Chapman game was a tragedy.  UR attempted one pass in the first half which resulted in a fumble.  Not being critical, because I dont know what was going on behind the scenes..but it was obviously a decision to just run the ball and run the ball. I think there were 4-6 fumbles in the game by Redlands, I think they turned the ball over 4 times maybe 5.  IMO Chapman isnt as good as LV or CMS, that was a game that should have been an easy win for UR.  Go figure!

I still cant figure out how CMS beat CLU......I guess that is why they play the games on Saturday!

Well, if track record has anything to do with things, doubt Oxy will overlook Chapman.  For the past several years they have done a great job playing one game at a time.  This time should be no different.  Too important to the entire team to finish strong.

Would like to hear from a Cal Lu source.  The reason is I have heard from good sources that Cal Lu benched several key starters (on the line I think) for violation of team rules prior to the CMS game (at least for the 1st Qtr).  Two thoughts, 1) if true big kudos to the coaching staff for making rules and sticking to them, 2) that would help explain their loss.  Cal Lu is a strong team,  ought to be another strong contender next year for the SCIAC crown.

Dawg Fan (I believe),  if not mistaken a pup is a young dawg, a kitten is a young tiger,  Call them kitty's if you would.

It's hard to get a read on Chapman since they're 1-3 against the SCIAC. Cal Lutheran handled them easily, they played tough against CMS, but were shutout by Whittier.
OxyBob

Didn't Chapman lose its starting qb for two games?  He's back now as I understand it.
