Why would you think that Andy will fall asleep? This is his homecoming to the far N.W. Not only that, He's a senior who is ready and willing to make the 3rd try at the dance the biggest event of his College life. The countless hours this guy and his teammates spent in th weightroom during the summer, in meetings and other areas will sure prepair them against the rats.

All summer long i saw a group of Tigers that made it there mission to get better and go farther than the 1st round. IMHO, this is the time, the Pine bowl will be the place and the picture of the dead rat will prove what type of team Oxy really is.

Never said I thought Colins would fall asleep.  With all the heat Whitworth will be bringing he won't have time to.  What I meant was that if he plays like he did in the second half of that Whittier game Oxy has a great shot of winning.  In fact if he plays like he did in the second half of the whittier game that means the pirates D has completely imploded and Oxy WILL win the game.  Everyone who has gotten to this point has worked just as hard as everyone else.  This game is very evenly matched...the team with the fewest mistakes will win, no matter how hard each team worked in the offseason.

But the man who has gone to war twice and learned from the mistakes will bring the extra urgency, intensity and fuel to bring this one home.

Andy and Co. will get this feeling as soon as the 1st quarter starts. Just my opinion that i am sticking to btw

Appearently watching your playoff hopes go down the drain with a late season loss to a team you should have beaten doesn't count?  Or losing to the best team in the nation by a slim (by linfield standards) margin for the last two years?  Or how about coming from behind on the road with less than 2:00 left and winning in double OT?  You are right Browneagle, Whitworth isn't battle tested.

Wow,I'm glad that you agree, Rat. ;D Stick with The SCIAC. I Can't believe that you would jump ship this late in the year. What would your fan base at the Pine bowl think????? You made a wise choice to go with Oxy. I am proud of you.

IN all jest, though, its better to not ruin the NWC playoff % if you stick with the RATs.  It will indeed anger those that came before the rats that put a lot into this playoff history.

Good luck to Oxy this weekend. Bring the noise and represent.

Oxy has a tough task ahead , I hope Collins and Co. are at their best and bring home a W!!!!  I would love to see a round two at home for the Tigers.

When you guys are up in Spokane, try and check out the Washington State game on radio if you want to hear some homers.  It's a couple of old guys that people up here love and they are just classic.  The color guy is in the background during plays sighing or yelling go go go!!! right in the middle of the play by play...They'll ride the refs all day long and they will blame games on the refs in the postgame show if they need to...they are aweful!

Pat, thanks for the kind words and thanks to my boy OB for the PR.  I should also say that, based on what I heard during the Linfield game, my counterpart at Whitworth puts me to shame.  He is as solid as they get.  Either he hasn't applied for the WASU job or they just eschew quality.

As for the WASU guys, I listen to them on XM and they're quite entertaining in an unintentional comedy sort of way.   I thought ex-Coug coach (and color man) Jim Walden was gonna jump out of the pressbox during the UofA game.

All I know about Lindsay Nelson is that when he did the Cotton Bowl with Hornung on New Year's Day, he was not the most hung over buy in the booth.

You got it T-Sports...PURE COMEDY...they are nuts up there...Walden cheers like he's leading the student section in war chants at the same time the color guy is trying to tell you what's going on!   :D

D O.C.

Out of curiosity, when are you leaving tigersports?

To those who left today for the drive may 395 be safe and sane. It is one of the great American arteries where nowhere is beautiful in the Zen suchness sort of way.

To those flying (up Interstate 5 and over east) it only saves you app. 2 hrs.

Everyone who has a travel day today...get there safe!

So Dens, is that a two day drive?  We've got a family (Chewelah branch) wedding in Spokane next April, maybe I should drive it instead of flying?

cheers,

I'm flying up with my (broadcast) partner on Friday night and doing a quick turnaround, coming back on Saturday.  As Pat can sympathize, oxybroadcast.com does not pay the bills (though it does contribute to them), so I have to slave for the man on Friday.

I must concur that the 395 drive is pretty pristine,  as I drove a good chunk on a trip to Boise way back when.  If you like stark (but not dull) western landscapes, it's a nice drive.

T.Sports,

I am glad that you guys are being recognized for your good level of work. Like i said before, I say go for doing clinics for the SCIAC announcers so that you and your full team could go on road trips with those funds. These fund will sure come  from the Pomona guy and CMS guys that really need your help. If this plan works out all I ask is a shout out at every road game. Hahaha. Just an opinion.

P.s. After Oxy wins please mention how all the colorful cartoons that the Rat fans made really pumped up and got the tigers rolling.

I noticed that you have an Oxy fight song or creed right below your posting. Man, last time i heard that was used on campus was back in the Fifties. I am glad that you are going old school and throw back old man.

Dude, it's the alma mater.  It used to get sung after every football game.  Now you hear it once and a while at alumni weekend.
