If you look carefully you'll see where an old friend of the board weighed in.
I guess he is still lurking while he is on hiatus. :P

Coach Jackson,
Your email address is showing! ;D :( ::) :-[

Oxy Bob,
I just read all the thread about Rice.  He decided it was not in his best interest to apply.  His handle on the site is BJTrojan.  A real smooth talker.  I'd rather see Coach Jackson get the job. :D

Another topnotch job of investigative  reporting. 8)

Gray fox,

La Verne has been too quiet. I had to say something about the job.

Thanks for the input

We are all waiting on pins and needles.  Good luck!
How about the CLU job?

The coach who inheirits the CLU job will have a strong team returning.  They should be the favorite to finish second in the SCIAC ;).  All kidding aside, they have many returning players as does UR.  I think this year will fun to watch and it should be very competitive in the SCIAC.

You are correct.  It's going to be a real dog fight (or is that "dawg fight") for first among  Oxy, UR, and CLU.

CLU- He'll have a lot of guys coming back, but I hope they hire someone in time for him to build his team.

With all the time CLU & ULV are taking with the new coaches the recruiting for this season has got to be a major concern.  Even with the kids they were in contact with before.  How much turnover is there going to be on the staff?  Is the system going to be similar?  Am I going to like the new guy?  Is the new guy going to like me?  Those are the things I would be asking.  Also, I know that La Verne makes decisions on applicants pretty quick.  Students could apply in June and be there in time for camp.  What's the usual time for CLU?

I agree with you, and,  I would have to question if the CLU and ULV atheletes are  training as hard and often as they would be with a coach.   How does the old saying go?  Something like kill the leader and the the troops will scatter?  ( I know that isn't quite right but the intent is there).  Without the leadership of the coach, players, even with good intentions, can easily go astray.

Maybe it's the year of the dawg!!!!!

UR is also undergoing some change with a new, and badly needed,  OC.  Hopefully that will work out well.  We know the defense will be dominating again and, if the offense can rack up some TD's, who knows!

Snoop,

I think i posted this a while back and just thought that i should bring it back, just for the fun and kidding around of it, but do you think that Coach Thomas will be ready to take the big task of running the offense? You might recall that he did a great job in coaching D.B's, T.E's and speacial teams, but does he have a system that will lead the dawgs out of confusion this years?  (note: this is not to start a piss match)
