:D :D :D
I really hate typing...

I occasionally do not explain myself as completely as I should!

Chapman- It just seems like it would be better for their program if they are in a conference with an automatic bid.  If they are average it would be a good conference win for most of the teams in the league.

When the committee is considering seeding and Pool C bids, playing a fellow West Region team such as Chapman does count!

Westcoast

I didn't say anyhting about a win counting or not.  I'm just talking about the benefit of Chapman being in a conference with an automatic bid or not being in one.  Look at UC Davis and Cal Poly.  They would be much better served by playing in a conference with an automayic bid.  If conference membership would strengthen Chapman's program, Chapman could help make the SCIAC even stronger.

OCCIDENTAL RECRUITING VIDEO.

Wow I didn't know Occidental had this guy on staff.  Now we all know why Oxy has been on top of the SCIAC for the past three years.

Oxy quarterback interview

snoop dawg

That has to be the funniest thing I have ever seen on this board. OMG, I can't stop laughing.  I am a bit surprised though, I would have though the team they showed in the game that they (Oxy) was scoring on would have been UR! :D

Too funny my girlfriend thought she was going to have to call the paramedics because I was having a seizure! When did that come out?
Hail to the Orange!!!

I think I saw in the credits that Oxy Bob played the role of the coach! ;)  and Browneagle played the role of the receiver.  So that you guys know, my wife did the interview! :D

i talked with clay richardson, the oc last season at cal lu and word is speckman interviewd earlier in the week and richardson interviewed yesterday. he didnt tell me but i have heard fenwick from oxy will be involved in the interviewing process at cal lu and ULV, i guess my info was wrong on the ULV case, my apologies. fenwick is a hell of a coach, i might go where he goes.

Bobby,
Thank you for keeping us up to date.  This will have a domino effect to the SCIAC and/or NWC.  Especially if Speckman and Fenwick both get picked.

i know if speckman got hired it would be a bad hire on the part of cal lu. anyone agree? fly offense with that great qb wouldnt be smart on cal lu's part

disagree...and you're being short sighted about Speckman's potential impact.

Yes, you’ll probably not attract gun slinging quarterbacks or WR's that want to air it out but if you land an athletic quarterback the fly is going to be a nightmare for defenses.  Along with that you’re going to attract outstanding offensive linemen and running backs that will be featured in that offense.  (Rushing for 340 yards a game can do that for a program).

The fly was good enough to get Willamette to an NAIA title game and multiple NWC crowns/playoff appearances….which is way more that Cal LU has done over the past decade.

The reason why Willamette football has struggled the past few years is the same reason the Willamette Athletic department has struggled….the institutions de-emphasis on athletics.  It’s getting harder and harder to get game changers on Willamette’s campus.  Speckman knows it and that’s why he’s looking elsewhere.

It would be a change of style but you would be getting a great coach.  Cal Lu would be a playoff contending team year in and year out with Speckman running the show.

11,
Do those lineman have to be large?  If they can be smallish, it seems to be a great recruiting advantage to get linemen that would have trouble in more traditional offenses.
