I'm sure the Whitworth fans will find the  heads up on the new offensive scheme especially useful in the first game in Spokane.

Don't discourage him! I was hoping snoop would reveal the entire Redlands playbook, which as we know from last season contains exciting, cutting edge plays like dive off center, lead off center, counter off center, and draw off center.

OxyBob

Bob,

I agree this is good stuff!  :)

[edit]The SCIAC board has been MUCH more entertaining since Dawg Goes Deep took his ball and went home. [/edit]

Hmm, I'm not sure the name-calling is necessary ...  :-\

....probably right PC but when you're working on your 3rd posting profile.............

OxyBob: If one's OGs, OC, FB and TB are good enough, then that is a wonderful offense.

frank uible

Early Woody ran HB dives at the B and C gaps and later FB bellies at the C gaps. Here I think we're talking about the A gaps.

Superfoot Wallace

Frank you're forgetting the toss sweep ala Bo and Harbaugh.  Nice setup for the short passing game if they don't respect the fullback counter as changeup similar to weak belly ala Pinkett, Riggs and White during the Warren Moon Oilers era.

The counter and lead off center are great for counter option and Mouse screen.

Looks like the speculation that Menlo would replace Colorado College on Oxy's schedule was on target.

Last season in the game at Oxy, Colorado College's moved the ball, but their defense couldn't stop Oxy. CC has two tall receivers -- Alisiani and Swett -- who gave the Oxy DBs all they could handle. What is Menlo's team like? They were 5-5 after going 0-10 in 2005. Maybe one of the NWCers can enlighten us.

OxyBob

Menlo is an unpredictable program. They are so up and down. They can easily go 8-2 one year and 4-6 the next. You never know with the Hawaiian pipeline they have going. They were always fun to play, very physical ball games.

Well, Oxy is on a 5-game losing streak to Menlo going back to 1996. No wonder the Tigers have been playing Lewis & Clark.

OxyBob

Bob, in Oxy's defense they did stink pretty bad in the 90's. I'm pretty sure that Coach W. is licking his chops at getting them back on the schedule.
