D O.C.

Why not? The larger field, his basic foot speed and arm. He could improve.

I wonder if they all sing that childrens song together to get pumped up.

If they were an American team they could be called the Skylarks.  I think that's an alright name but Buick might have a litigious fit.
Hail to the Orange!!!

I found this while lurking over on the NESCAC board.

You can get an idea of how the SCIAC schools spend on athletics,  coaches salaries, number of participants, etc.

These were fairly extensively discussed on the SCIAC men's basketball boards this past season.

I can understand why any good d3 football player would want to play for Whitewater, I just couldnt see how DJ  got connected to them.  If in fact the CLU OC applied for the job that answers alot of questions.  Did he get the job?  Maybe he turned DJ onto UW as incentive to give him the job?  What I mean is maybe he said I can bring DJ with me if I'm hired.   Now before anyone says Im making accusations, Im not........ just LOGICALLY  thinking out loud. ;)

This is a very interesting twist, I must say.  But with UWW's success in recent years, I suspect that the quality of the applicant pool for the OC job is very good. This program has a reputation for stability when it comes to the coaching staff.  HC Brez 22years, HC Forest Perkins 20+ years before that, OC Zweifel 16 years, DC Borland 13 years, etc....  I can't see them wasting this opportunity and hiring an OC that is not the top candidate just to get a QB for one year.  Especially since the QB's we have are not too shabby!  If he did apply and gets hired, I believe it will be because he is the best choice.  If he did apply and doesn't get hired, we would be happy to have Jones anyway.  ;) :D ;D
The UWW OC has been hired.  He is currently a college  head coach with a winning record.

GF ...........we all read the front page.  Is it official?  Did Jones officially transfer?

Don't know if he's applied for admission to WW, but Sakman 1111 reports on the WIAC PP page 535 that he is currently in WW painting a house - no joke, I couldn't make that up.  Check it out yourself.

Actually, Sakman1111 said he was painting a house in Oak Park which is a suburb of Chicago.  Sakman1111's son played a little football for the Hawks for the last 4 years.  ;)  My guess is the coaching staff is having someone show Danny around and helping him make some new friends.

Either way, it sounds like Mr. Jones finally left So. Cal. Good luck to him.

On the brightside from Cali, it looks like the men from Oxy are doing their best in working out alone as a group and depending on each other for motivation to get ready for August camp. From the Looks of it, the W.R. crops, L.B's and Q.B's should be ready by then.

Excellent!  Now all we need is the DL, OL, DB, RB and ST corps to shape up, we might get somewhere!

Any of you boys playing in the Vance Mueller-Tiger Club Golf Classic Friday?

Wow, visited the WIAC site to look at the Danny Jones' references, found a report about Lindy's "Extremely" Preseason DIII top 25, and get this:

No Linfield;
No Oxy (Andy graduates and we're dust . . . who'd a thunk it?);
Whitworth is # 24; and
Cal Lu is # 20.

I guess the folks at Lindy's don't check the boards and are blissfully ignorant of anything like a QB change.

Gotta love low expectations . . . nowhere to go but up.

cheers,

Oak Park is also the city adjacent to Thousand Oaks, Ca., home of the Who.

Lindy's has CLU  ranked as #20.  The comment made is," New coach Ben McEnroe inherits All-SCIAC QB Danny Jones and RB Jose Rojas.

Maybe Lindy's forgot about our outrageous inheritance tax. ::)

Tooth---- I wish i could join the old folks like you, Bob and the Oxy coaching staff on the links tomorrow afternoon, but work will have me tied up during that time. I am sure that one day, in the future when i'm in my 60's like you guys, i'll be able to just take the afternoon from work and be able to hit the links. Hope that you and the boys will raise big money for the team. Have fun and keep us updated on the events.

Btw, it's all good that Oxy isn't ranked at all. This is a new season and a new chapter in Oxy football. I am sure the men in orange and black will take this notice from Lindy's as a motivation to prove any critics wrong.
