Dear Sir...PC...I never intend to be a smart a$$......sorry you take it that way.  I view myself as......unjustly criticized and sometimes respond in anger.

Hell, even when I dont  post for a few days I get dinged on a daily basis.  I really dont care, I just joke about it at this point.

Pat Coleman

Your old posts don't go away just because you don't post for a while. They may still be new to some people.

PC...other than a few outbursts with my arch enemy-stalker, I have behaved myself and not made the same mistakes I originally did, and that was long ago and many, many pages ago.  Durig the season I will probably just lurk, watch and read rather than post because I dont want the aggravation.  Well, maybe an occasional post. ;)

Anyway, what did you think of Street & Smiths Poll?  Mostly accurate? It was obviously prepared some time ago because of the Danny Jones situation.

Pat Coleman

I never think the S&S ranking (not a poll, unless there are multiple voters) is accurate. It's annually the worst.

snoop,

Don't waste money on  anything that isn't sponsored by d3football.com.  They need something to fill a space and probably don't spend more than an hour of research.

PC...see what I mean?  Since I began talking to you I was hit three times....go figure.

As to the preseason poll, isnt it fairly easy to pick Mount and other annual powers to be near the top on a yearly basis?  I think where they fail is with conferences like the SCIAC where the conference power can change every year and a power can drop suddenly with the loss or transfer of a top notch player, ala Oxy-Collins or CLU-Jones.  It has to be really hard for anyone to rank a team under those circumstances.  I would think that you (d3) have a hugh advantage with the insight you may pick up from these boards and because of the extent of your constant coverage and research of the division.

GF...S&S was interseting reading if nothing else.  Still being new to d3 it is somewhat educational to learn about the other teams across the country.

I really wish it was possible for d3 to find a way for there to be more intersectional (east vs west vs midwest games)  I think it would benefit all involved.

Branch out from the SCIAC and NWC boards and you will find many other worlds out there.  Each conference is unique, and none are like D1.

I have read many of the other boards and yes you learn somethings but many of the views are very opinioated, imagine that.  It is fun to read what  some of the characters have to say and to see how loyal they are to their favorite schools.  BTW, my new hero is Touchdown Tommy.  What a funny trash talker!

I hit your karma so you could be more like your hero.  Since I had given you a +k earlier, the karma machine thought I had made a mistake and knocked you down two.  I'm sorry, but you will soon be able to get even with me. :'(

GF.....thanks....it really doesnt matter about the k thing.  Irealized no matter what I say I still get hit so I learned to embrace the darkness and accept it.  Maybe I'll come back again as Darth Vader Dawg.

The US uni's on the front page are pretty sweet. Who has the best uniforms in the SCIAC? Past or present?

The USA jerseys are nice looking, but the pants are too busy for my taste.

As for the SCIAC, Claremont's combo of maroon jerseys with gold pants is a winner, though the Stags also look good with white pants. Redlands' home uniforms look great with the maroon jerseys and gray pants, and they have great helmets with the classic R. Cal Lutheran's purple jerseys and white pants are nice, but I am not a big fan of the white helmets. Whittier had that hideous combination of purple jerseys with matching purple pants with gold helmets with the players' numbers on them. I was never a big fan of Pomona's color combo of blue jerseys, orange pants and orange helmets, especially when their colors are blue and white. La Verne's colors are orange and green, which is bad enough, but they make it worse with green jerseys, helmets and pants. I do not like Oxy's colorless uniforms, and I especially dislike the all black outfits.

OxyBob

OxyBob,

Very good breakdown. Oxy could definitely use some updating to their uniform. Some type of orange stripe combo would look pretty cool. Redlands looks it's best when they go all maroon at home. Nothing looks sweeter then that combo with their classic helmet. ULV has had many different combo's over the years but their best look is their all white uniform when they play away with white helmets. Whittier is helpless, every uniform combo I have seen from them has been awful. CMS looks pretty sweet with their maroon jerseys and white pants. Cal Lu's new uniforms are nice, much better then the old gold helmets and pants. Pomona should go all blue in my opinion.

The best ULV uniform was the all orange with white helmet from the mid 90's  ;).
Hail to the Orange!!!

I played against ULV when they wore that uniform combo. Not bad.
