Bob-  That video pretty much sums up Cal Lu.  Talking the talk but not gonna walk the walk until they figure it all out and dont have kids getting DUI's during the season and dont have guys "chasin the muff around" like the guys in Dazed & Confused.  Maybe they need to get the girls from Oxy to transfer to CLU.  The boys at OXY sure dont seem to have any distractions ;D

"This might be my last really big game." That's the spirit, future Bulldog.

Getting a biochemistry degree at Redlands will be much better in the long run than getting a  DI scholarship and not being allowed to pursue that major  at a place like, say,  Louisville.

Sounds more to me like someone who thinks D-III is glorified intramurals. He'll get a reality check soon enough.

"Chasing the muff around"....has been the downfall of many a great athlete, business man and several politicians.  What makes you think young college guys are any different?

From what has been posted and what I've read in the local T.O. newspapers the troubles are deeper that the muff syndrome.

How true!

From what you are saying, it sounds like the CLU guys are getting some practical learning to supplement their classroom experience. :(

Some of what is said here and there has already come out somewhere. :P

If you don't believe me, check out the Liberty League guys.

A friend of mine played basketball at CLU and is currently the the coach at Crespi, if the current students followed his example in life, they would be much better off.  One of the assisstant coaches for the basketball team is also a guy I used to play in a league with, when asked about the recent problems, he just scratches his head without an answer.......I guess I cant blame him.

I think OB previously posted an article from the T.O. local newspaper about the basketball situaton.  Its too bad, not that it can't happen anywhere these days.

I live less than a mile or two from the CLU  campus and I can say that the students that I see about town are just normal everyday college students.  I really think the situation with the basketball players is an abnormality.

I think I catch your drift. I have noticed that much of the stuff on the Liberty League board should be flushed with excitement.

Hey -

We (the LLPP) resemble that remark!

Hope to meet up with some of you SCIAC guys at a game or two this fall.  My place is pretty close to both CLU and Oxy, so I hope to finally get off my keister and see what west coast D3 fb is all about.

The 04-05 Linfield team with Elliott/Allen would be a notable exception, of course!  What a dominate passing offense that was!

The lack of a running threat however kept that team from going even further.   There needs to at least be the inkling that a run may be coming in the defenders mind.  That was the difference between back to back national championships and not.

I'm with ya on that 413...I'm just being greedy. ;)   Even with the L, that was still without a doubt the most entertaining, exciting, gutwreching game i've ever seen in person.  Great atmosphere and as loud as I've ever seen that stadium...

I am going to respond to this on the WIAC board, DT48,  where several of us are stolling down memory lane so as not to take up any more time on the SCIAC board.  Come join us and my apologies to the posters here for taking over their board with UWW/Linfield talk.

+k for the actual football talk in the off season and cross conference exposure.  I'll checkout the rest of the discussion.

There was another roadblock waiting in Salem that would have also been a difference between Back to Back Championships for Linfield.  ;)

That was a game I wanted to see (Linfield vs. Mt. Union).

What's the deal with Oxy's schedule with no home games (and two long road trips to open up at L&C and Menlo) until October?

Did the AD drink too much WT at the last SCIAC AD's meeting?  Seems to put them at some what of a disadvantage?
