I think he means none of the others have water polo. :'(

Will be at the Sept. 8th PLU game, stoonk, but Sat. (August)  25th is reserved for the 70th birthday celebration for surfing legend Mickey Munoz at Doheny State Park.
sabertooth should be ashamed not to attend since he rides (rode) the tools Munoz is responsible for. Heck, bring the kids, I invite you, tooth.  8)

Actually, that would be pretty cool . . . but Sept. 25 is a Tuesday.  If it's on that day, I might be able to make it, I'll have to check my work calendar. If it's on a Sunday, we can probably swing it, but if it's on a September Saturday I'll be coaching AYSO and sadly unable to make the trek . . . and frankly, I'd much prefer the water to the pitch.

thanks for thinking of me DOC.   8)

Ooops, tripped up by the cunning K-Mack . . . I failed to consider that a water polo reference would cause others to think of horses in water.   ;)

Thanks for the heads up on the article OXYBOB.  I find one of the quoted very disturbing in the article.

"It's really nice when it's just like a bar fight," he says, "you and the other guy going at it the entire game. It's tiring, but that's when you get the most stress and the most fun."- Matt Rosen

I find this quote a little ironic since we all know what happened last year with the guys going to the bars and getting DUI's.  Seems like this lineman might not be as smart as the others.

By the way, David Lassen might be one of the worst writers I have ever seen.  Cut all the b.s. "little" things in the stories and get to the point.

I'd prefer having a thinker in residence on Pennsylvania Ave.

A common aftereffect of drinking too much is a hangover, which is partly due to the dehydrating effect of alcohol. Dehydration from boozing can be mitigated by drinking plenty of water between and after alcoholic drinks. So the best advice to players is to remind them that between drinks and bar fights, after their jail booking, before they lay down in their holding cell, and as soon as they post bail, they need to hydrate, hydrate and then hydrate.

So if CalLu follows your regiment will they be able to challenge for the #1 spot in the hydration standings?  Or will the champs continue to reign?

Tooth you make it out to LV camp yet? anything to report? What about you CarloRossiLep hear much about the new coach? I heard he has a pretty small staff with only a few coaches on each side of the ball. :-\
Oh , and I definitely dont miss the IE heat during camp, but sometimes after working a long week, you realize that banging heads with your buddies for a few hours a day wasn't so bad after all..... I miss Saturdays, but not Mon-Fri...
Hail to the Orange, Hail to the Green,

I think in this case we should say whether they continue to rain. :)

From pressconnects.com:

Punter Jeff Feagles missed his second straight day of practice with backs spasms. He will not play in the preseason game against the New York Jets on Saturday at Giants Stadium.

"I don't know," coach Tom Coughlin said. "His back is bothering him and because it tightened up and, they (the trainers) want to take a look at it, so they are holding him."

Free agent [and Oxy Tiger] Cory Ohnesorge will handle the punting and the holding on field goals and extra points.

Hmmm . . . Jerome Bettis just admitted in his book he faked a knee injury because he thought he might get cut back around 2000. NFL rule says you can't cut a player on IR.

First - remember Bettis is trying to sell a book, at this point in time, how is anybody going to know if what he says actually happened or was merely fabrication years after the fact (Michael Vick at first said he wasn't involved in dogfighting either).  If it wasn't for some sensational story like the fake injury, his book would probably just collect dust on the book store shelf except for a few folks in Pitt with nothing better to do.
Second - if he wasn't put on IR, couldn't they have still cut him, though injuried, provided they agreed on an injury settlement?  It happens all the time - today in fact it happened to C.J. Pope of Green Bay. It might have cost the Steelers a bundle because of his contract, but I believe they could have.

I don't know the seriousness of Feagle's injury or Ohnesorge's preseason stats, but don't be surprised if the Giants make a pick-up off the waiver wire with cuts now being made.  I guy in particular that might be attractive to many teams is Ryan Dougherty from East Carolina, cut today by Green Bay. Counting two punts that were wiped out by penalty, his 10-punt averages were 48.0 yards (gross), 40.9 (net) and 4.46 seconds (hang time). Pretty decent stats, but he still got out kicked by the incumbent punter with the Packers. How do those numbers stack up against Ohnesorge?
