Supposedly, the game this Saturday against the Indians is sold out, on the visitor side.  Everyone knows that the students and town of Redlands forget about the game on Saturdays in the fall.  Many of the Tribes in the area are going to support their guys.  Hope it is a fun atmosphere for the Bulldogs.  Maybe the fans can get a good tailgate in before hand.

He's got his NWC blinders on. The truth is in the facts!

I agree that the truth is in the facts...and the fact is nobody in the SCIAC has the nads to put Linfield on their non-conference slate for the past four years.  Sorry I had to get that out of my system.  Carry on....

Yeah, Yeah! We've heard it before. Redlands and the SCIAC don't have telephone service. Maybe the Pony Express can get them a message?

RFB,

I'm going to have to start calling the SCIAC the "Fred Astair Conference" for all of the dancing around Linfield you guys do during the regular season.

A number of years ago, when St. Marys still had football, I suggested to the SMC Athletic Director that they should schedule Linfield. He said "No way!''. He was the AD at Redlands before St. Marys. ;D FWIW, he is now the AD at Hawaii.

So WC 11....are you privy to these calls?  Were you actually present?  Were the requests for a game denied?  Hearsay is the same as gossip which is conduted by bored women who have nothing better to do with their lives.  ::) ::) I know you do because I've seen your video clips.

Hopefully, the visitors won't hold up the line at the Och Tamale tailgate.

His name is Carl Clapp and he was the Redlands AD when I was there. Before him was Greg Warzecka who is the AD at UC Davis. May be he said "No Way" to Linfield because they didn't want to play any DIII teams, they were 1AA in football.

I know enough to know that nobody in the FAC has played a regular season game vs Linfield since 2003 while every other NWC school has at least one FAC school on the schedule (some play 2 and 3 FAC teams).

Both Linfield and Redlands has Sept. 13th open in 2008 and I know Linfield will make a call to Redlands (if they haven't already) and we'll see what happens.  My guess is that the 'Dawgs will play somewhere else.

IMO...playing Linfield in 2008 is going to be FAC school's best shot.  We have to replace all of our starting backfields (offense and defense) after this season.

I did'nt get to see the game at Whitworth but I did listen to it,with the exception of Kemps 1rst quarter run I would say Redlands pretty much handled the Pirates at home.Defence was stout, and a very good game called by Coach Thomas.

GO BULLDOGS!

My prediction:

Redlands will add PLU with that same open date.

Linfield will get stuck adding Humboldt or a WIAC team to it's existing non-conference slate of WOU and SOU.

You guys pick on Oxy for not scheduling better teams, but complain when you can't get an easy test yourself.  ??? :P  As Bobby Knight would say , "This job's not that easy" ;)

Slight correction. You have your hotheads mixed up. Tom Lasorda's the one who said, "This f-ing job is not that f-ing easy!" Bob Knight is the guy who's "forgotten more about this f-ing game than all you people combined are ever going to know."

"using the whole fist there, Doc"

Gray Fox

OB,

Two for the price of one.  I guess I don't know as much about Jim Healy as you have forgotten.  Remembering at my age is not that f...... easy either. :'( :-[

I think you're a little off base there GF. With UWSP and HSU on recent schedules, I think Linfield has shown they'll play tough squads. Their main beef is that they have a heck of a time getting any non-conference D3 teams on their schedule. I believe they've only been able to line up one per year for their 3 or 4 possible non-conference games. They end up settling for NAIA and D2 teams. I think their rant is a little different than "we want a cupcake"...it's more "it'd be nice to play teams in our division".

Gray Fox

train,

Unfortunately Linfield is a victim of their own success as well as geographic isolation and full conferences.

We fans all want to see the best d3 teams play each other.  Each school has their own philosophy and budget.

I certainly agree with that post...but it seems a little different from where your post above was going (the reference to easy tests). It's all good though, I see your point and I think you can see mine.

I know they were 1AA and at the time Linfield was creaming everyone and St. Marys couldn't beat an egg.
