train,

Unfortunately Linfield is a victim of their own success as well as geographic isolation and full conferences.

We fans all want to see the best d3 teams play each other.  Each school has their own philosophy and budget.

I certainly agree with that post...but it seems a little different from where your post above was going (the reference to easy tests). It's all good though, I see your point and I think you can see mine.
I don't think we would be having this conversation if Linfield was in Ohio, Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc.

Can't say that for sure. Some of those WIAC teams seem to struggle in getting non-conference D3 games as well. They have 7 games within the conference, so it's a bit less of an issue. But still, do you think their first choice is to play St. Cloud and South Dakota St.?

I hear that Huxley College is looking to fill in its schedule!

Frank: It isn't right for a college to buy football players.
Wagstaff: It isn't, eh? Well, I'll nip that in the bud. How about coming along and having a nip yourself?
Frank: Anything further, Father?
Wagstaff: Anything further, Father? That can't be right. Isn't it 'Anything Father, further?' The idea! I married your mother because I wanted children. Imagine my disappointment when you arrived.

WC11 SAID......."Both Linfield and Redlands has Sept. 13th open in 2008 and I know Linfield will make a call to Redlands (if they haven't already) and we'll see what happens.  My guess is that the 'Dawgs will play somewhere else."

Upon close questioning, the following was revealed:

Question:     Upon what facts do you base this statement?

Answer:        I just know.

Question:     Have you any personal knowledge that Linfield has ever called
UR for a game and their request been denied?

Answer:       I just know.

Question:     How do you know?

Answer:      I just do.

End of case.  If you have confirmed factual information, post it, otherwise.......stop the gossip. ::)

You are correct, d-train.  The top teams in the WIAC have had the same problem for years.  Both UWLC and UWW have had to resort to top D-3 teams, (HSU, UMHB,) NAIA,  D-2, and even D-1AA to fill out their schedules the last several years.  The private schools in Wisconsin and Illinois won't touch them.  The geographic location of the CCIW is tailor made for UWW but they won't answer the phone either. ;)   Believe me, UWW scheduling D-2 St. Cloud State this weekend was hardly their first choice but it was better than starting conference play after playing a cupcake and two bye weekends.

My thinking was that if Linfield was located in that area they could easily find other top d3 teams to play.  But we are all speculating here.

Well it only took you three screen names to start being truthful so I guess you have good advice about the ills of being a clucking hen.

We all know you have no issues with throwing coaches under the bus on posting boards but I'd rather not.

Keep trying soccer mom.

One of the solutions for Linfield is to move up to DII. Then they can schedule some DI schools help them for the playoffs if they make it. There are plenty of DI schools in Oregon and Washington for them to play. ;) Part of the problem for Linfield is their location. It's not the easiest place to get to from SoCal. Fly to Portland and bus to McMinnville. Most of the SCIAC schools don't want to schedule two overnight road games due to finances. Gray Fox hit the nail on the head, they are a victim of their own success. Nobody wants to take a chance and get beat up on.

WC........If thats all you got...its weak.  Still waiting for factual documentation rather than the .....I know .......response equivalent of a first grader.

As to coaches....again your response is nothing but hearsay.  I still support my sons high school program, the coaches are personal friends, so wrong there. As to UR, I have only expressed the highest regard for the coaches there,  oh wait, I did make a critical post about play calling last year...or am I remembering one of the other hundred or so posts by other posters?

As to your name calling, that is usually the last resort of someone who knows they are wrong and cant justify their position in an argument.

I have admitted I went about trying to conceal my identity in the wrong way...so that issue has been horse whipped already.

BTW.......you do nice video though. ;D

WC11,

I know you have already bought the minivan for your runs to Home Depot & Bed, Bath, & Beyond. By the way, the prank video you posted on your blog is classic.

Quit your bitchin.  After this year NWC gets an automatic bid anyway.  You are just pissed that you have to wait for a pool B bid and you think you are getting screwed by not getting to play other leagues eventual champions.  The NCAA will still pit a number I vs number 2 if it saves them travel cost.  Next year all will change with the automatic bid, if you can win.  Redlands beat the team on it's schedule, NWC champs last year, that's something to boast about for a week.

Hearsay?  Did you say "Hearsay?"

I guess you don't recall running a CLU coach through the mud because he didn't have the decency to say hello to you?  If you don't remember HERE IS THAT POST

That was so embarrasing to the guy had to acutally register on this site to respond to you killing him on this public form.  If you don't remember HERE IS THAT POST

BTW...you only admitted you were wrong about your identity after you were exposed two/three times (I lost count)

I rest my case....

[removed] That hardly qualifies for what you are referring to in bashing coaches.

.....and speaking of the clucking hen....(I wish I had OB's computer skill to insert the appropriate sound effect), there is a good discussion about the Whit -UR game going on and you drive by and start calling UR and other SCIAC  schools out for not scheduling Lin.  Please......with you its always, Linfield this and Linfield that.......when the discussion doesnt even concern Linfield., cluck, cluck cluck.

When you cant win the argument at hand, that being....Linfield supposedly calling UR and other SCIAC  schools and cant get a game....you start with the personal attacks.

You win a debate by arguing the facts relative to the issue of debate ........you obviously cant do that and just cant handle losing.

Pat Coleman

I know you're still relatively new to Redlands, but if you look back at previous years, Redlands used to play Linfield and no longer does. Meanwhile, Linfield has struggled to get games against D-III opponents.

Do the math as to who dropped whom.

And I removed your repeated bashing of the guy you picked on last November. It was inappropriate then and is even more so now, considering his in-depth rebuttal of your complaint.
