Browneagle, You are right, no worries on scheduling, Oxy will take on anyone and do their school proud. No question about that with lots of respect going their way from me.  Paddymac- I agreewas is uo with that statement "Where Redlands goes to die' or whatever. The field looks like Linfield, and Redlands did loss there in first round playoffs a couple of years ago. I was there.  The bulldogs played them tough with a chance to win with 2 minutes left. No exactly a harsh death

Thx Redbulldog,

These are great kids going to great schools.  We are really proud of all these schools and there respective FB programs.  You read so much about kids going down the wrong path in life and there is not enough about all the good kids like these that play D3 FB.  I'm just partial to Redlands and Chapman is going to play us tough.  Ought to be a hard fought contest.  Have a good weekend.

How can St. Olaf not beat the Gusties with this fight song?
With this reply: :-*

  Come on you gusties,
fight on, fight on,
shout out the battle cry of victory,
come on you gusties,
fight till the end,
fight on for dear old G-A-C
Gusties will shine tonight,
Gusties will shine, hey,
Gusties will shine tonight,
Gusties will shine, hey,
Gusties will shine tonight,
Gusties will shine,
Beat em, Bust em, That's our custom,
Gusties will shine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to examine the quote "Where Redlands comes to die."  You forgot the last word in that sentence...It should read "Where Redlands comes to die...of laughter" after we open up a good ol' can of whupass.  O'boy, now thats funny, lol....getting side stitch from laughing so hard... :D

If you truly want to examine it, Linfield and Relands have played 5 times in the history of their programs.  The series record is Linfield 5 wins Relands 0 wins and no ties.  The last meeting was the playoffs of 2003 which was a close game (31-23).  The last regular season game was 1999 with Linfield winning 48-0.  I don't see how this is a laughing matter.   ;D (all in good fun guys)

Redlands vs Linfield History:

1998: 24-23 Linfield   Reg. Season
1999: 48-0   Linfield   Reg. Season
2002: 59-21 Linfield   Reg. Season
2003: 49-10 Linfield   Reg. Season
2003: 31-23 Linfield   Playoffs

Definitely nothing to laugh about. Linfield has owned the series. Time for Jeff Martinez to place a phone call or take one from Linfield and get the series going again.

Oops, my bad, I somehow missed the 2002/2003 regular season games when I said the last one was 1999....

Looks like the Warhawk offense had a tough day (edit - opening 3 quarters) - and St. Olaf won the battle of the fight songs handily :D

Nice win for the Kingsmen (45-24).  I'm looking forward to hearing more about it, it was 10-7 ULV at the half so it sounds like the CLU Offense got untracked for the first time all season in the second half.

scandihoovian,

Danny Jones turned it around in the fourth to lead WW to a 35-28 comeback victory over LC.  After a horrid first 42 minutes, he finished 16-30-1 (at one point, I believe he was 1-11-1 - but I haven't seen the play-by-play yet), with 2 TD's in the 4th and a big 2-point conversion to tie the score at 28.  WW trailed 28 -10 with 8 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter.

Good job Danny Jones!  Huge win.  Speaking of big wins, how about Willamette over Linfield.  I'm sure Coach Speckman and the Bearcat faithful are thrilled about that outcome.

Quick picks: Oxy wins, Poets win, and finally Redlands beats Chapman.

scandihoovian

Wow Bobo-

I must have been skimming too quickly and mistaken that 3rd Q score for a final.  Oh well, looks like WW had a nice comeback, bully for them. ;)

FWIW - it sounds like Toilolo had quite a second half of his own.  Here's the CLU Article.

RFB

Redlands   0  End of 1st Quarter
Chapman   0

Redlands offense sloppy with two turnovers. One was costly as they fumbled at the four yard line going in. Need to clean it up.

RFB

Redlands   2  2nd Quarter
Chapman   0

Redlands defense steps up with the safety.

Oxy 14 - Claremont 7 w/ 54 seconds left in the first half.

Claremont takes the kickoff . . . started on the Claremont 45, ran it to the Oxy 40 . . . Oxy nearly gets a pick . . . 39 seconds left . . . 2 & 10 at Oxy 40.  Claremont connects on a pass to the Oxy 15 . . . clock stops to move the chains, incomplete, flag . . . PI against Oxy, 1st and goal on the 9 . . . timeout Oxy, 16 seconds left . . .

Pass . . . TD Claremont.

Oxy gave up an unsportsmanlike conduct on the kickoff, then nailed for PI . . . handing the points over.

PAT is good.

tie with 11 seconds left.

crap

go tigers

I'm back to the fam.
