Redlands  2   Halftime
Chapman 0

Redlands defense has been outstanding. Redlands offense had two good opportunities in the redzone and came up empty. They need to make some adjustments and get the offense back on track.

Redlands   9  3rd Quarter
Chapman  0

Redlands offense finally gets in the endzone on the touchdown pass.

Redlands  12  Final
Chapman  0

Nice win Redlands! The offense was much better in the second half and the defense is a force to be reckoned with. First 3-0 start for Redlands since 1993 with a big showdown at the Rock looming next weekend. The script couldn't have been written any better.

D O.C.

My humble attention turns to the end of the O-CM game.

Redlands is on the way to win 12-0 at Chapman.

4th and 3 OXY goes for 1st down and cannot do it.
28-27 OXY. Claremont has the ball with a minute and a half.

Too bad their on their own 22.
Not a bad OXY move.

Clock running.

D O.C.

CM down to the OXY 36 with 49 secs left.
Clock stopped.

D O.C.

Going to come down to a 46 yard field goal.........

No good.

Nice effort by CMS. Oxy might have been looking past them with the showdown next week with Redlands. It should be a fun one next weekend. Can't wait!

Nice win CLU over La Verne. Easy call on my part. Redlands 12-0 over Chapman. Offense needs to do better against Oxy next week. Good luck Oxy against the Redands Defense. They (the redlands defense)  might be a tad better than what they faced against Lewis and Clark and Menlo. Ha! How did CMS play Oxy so close? Serious qustion? I do respect Oxy tremediously.  CMS beat  Kenyon (ranked 182 out of 238) whoop de do. CMS lost to Pugent Sound (maybe a better team than I had realized.) Oxy is much better than CMS and should have beat them easily. That is why they call it football, and you have to play the game in order to determine the outcome.Redlands might have looked past Chapman also looking ahead to face the Tigers. Can't brag about the Redlands offense tonight.

snoop dawg

I was at the game tonight.  Lets just say it was close from a scoring and statisical standpoint.  However, you knew Chapman would only score on a fluke and you just waited for UR's offense to score.  I will say though, the second string Chap Qb threw a bomb to a wide open receiver that flat out dropped a ball that hit him on the numbers on about the one yard line.

See ya next week.

Fear the Poet

Poets win 28-7!!  Nice win, but very sloppy. Way to many penalties for my Poets.  Should have been a shutout. 2nd and long all night, but Scurlock managed to break free on runs and made some nice throws on the run. Poets have a nice group of freshman recievers that have made an immediate impact this year.  Future looks bright.

snoopdawg- you are right. That pass at the Redlands two yard line hit the Chapman receiver in the numbers. I believe the score was 2-0 then. If caught and a touchdown for Chapman..... no I don't want to think about that stuff. Bad Karma. Chapman played very well, offensively and defensively. I haven't seen to offensive stats, but Chapman might have had more. No , probably not, but close, too close. Next week will be exciting. Two very good teams battling it out, couldn't be better. Both schools have class, players, coaches alike.  see ya!

FEAR THE POET, Scurlock (sp?) is the real deal. He was a one man wrecking crew last year against Redlands. My hat goes off to him and "your Poets". Your have a right to be proud. You guys will cause some damage this year. It is good to see the future for Whittier looking better. Scurtlock scares me.

if they win, they are "my poets", if they lose, they're DAW's poets. :)

Scurlock is very exciting to watch, that is for sure. Best of luck next week to the Bulldogs.
