Tooth-

What year was it?  I was probably in the group of young hoodlums playing football (between plays of the actual game) with a bunch of wadded up Coke cups next to the Oxy bench.  You may have been up against redbulldog, the board's new original Kingsman.

The return was on a sunny afternoon at CLC . . . it was either '76 or '77, can't recall which right now.

Tooth:  Are you sure it wasn't '79?  That was the year (I believe) that JD got beat for the 99 yd TD pass that made its way into the CLU record books.  We took a little butt whooping that day.

In the fall of '79 I was waiting tables at the Nightwatch in Eagle Rock, working as a trainer at a Nautilus  gym in Pasadena, playing rugby, spending a ton of time with my then girlfriend at the Alpha sorority house and consuming massive quantities of cold frosty beverages (among other items) . . . with nary a class or set of shoulder pads in sight!

hhhmmmmm . . . . beeeerrrrr . . . . .

LOL, i sure indeed wasn't close to being born around those years. Man, for old folks, you guys sure do have good memories about that years (or day's) specific weather, latitude and longitude measures of the field and hash marks, directions of wind blowing and of course whether good ol bob rode on the team bus (just kidding). I can barely remember what i did last tuesday, let alone, what i did yesterday.

To bad you wont be able to make it tooth. I am sure all of us at the tailgate will drink one for you and for another big tiger victory

Btw, snoop, lets just hope that coach thomas can get his offense ready. Of course, the tiger "D" will need to be fix its minor problems that it had during this past weekend and show us that the first two game performance wasn't a fluke.
Mark my words, this tiger offense and defense is no Haskell Indians nation's and will indeed show up ready to take on this up and coming pup team.

And this Redlands offense/defense is no CMS, Menlo, or Lewis & Crap. Get ready for a Redlands defense that stuffed a very good Whitworth offense.

The Oxy-Redlands game looks to be a good matchup (from a non-biased observer's perspective).  Oxy seems to have a more consistently balanced offensive attack and has played pretty good defense but against relatively weak opponents. Redlands has played good defense including one pretty good opponent.  It seems like Redlands has turned the ball over more on offense and this could be a big factor in the game.  It looks to me like Redlands might have more size on their lines (if my reading was correct) but I'm guessing that Oxy may bring a little more speed/mobility?  If I'm operating under the right assumptions than this game should be close.  Keys to game:  1.  Redlands Defense needs to come up big to stop the run and the pass.  2.  Oxy's Defense will probably have their biggest test of the year and we'll find out if they are for real--they need to stop the Redlands' running game if they want keep the Bulldogs in check.  3.  Turnovers--both teams have beneifted from opponents turnovers so whoever can limit their own T.O.s will have an advantage.  My call:  If the game is relatively high scoring (say 50 or more combined points) then Oxy wins.  If it is defensive struggle---Redlands takes it.  Should be a great game either way and will give the SCIAC and the rest of D3 an idea of what these teams can do!  I'm thinking of attending but if not I'll be checking in online.  Good Luck to both!  (my apologies in advance if my statements are incorrect or uneducated but they are based on what I've read on the web as I have not seen the teams play---I look forward to hearing what others think.).

BE...I did notice that OXY'S shutouts were against L&C 0-9  last year 0-3 now and Menlo 4-6 last year and 0-5 now,but they are no Haskell as you mentioned.Should be a great match up this weekend, but I look for the Bulldogs to prevail in a close one.

GO BULLDOGS!

MC.....I think your post is....right on!

BE......Haskell was at least as good as either Men-go-low or Lewis and Caca.  At least we only played one patsy.

Make that a decent Whitworth offense.
