Good point Scandi . . . but it's still been so hot I'm in summer Corona/Pacifico/Tecate/Hefe mode rather than the ale and brat mode that I like once it cools down . . . and really seems like fall/winter.

Come on, Tooth!  You know us left coast guys need a nice micro brew (Red Seal, Full Sail, etc.) to go with our brats!

The MIAC guys do crack me up when they have "drink what your dad/grandpa drank" tailgates.
That would leave me with Wiedemann's, Old Style, and Burgie's as my beverage selections.  Now that's livin'!

Bob-
Please take comfort in knowing that we Cal Lu supporters are 'taking it one game at a time.' ;)

don't forget Hamms and Meister Brau and of course my all time favorite low budget brew.......the brown can with a blue stripe all away around that simply said "BEER" on the can. I believe I used to buy that in the $7.50 an hour days. :)

Do you guys in SoCal actually have a fall/winter? I thought it just became a slightly cooler version of summer.  ;)
Sierra Nevada brews are the way to go! ;D

Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale (available around Thanksgiving to New Year) is the nectar of the gods.

Tooth-

No Dos Equis Amber or Negro Modelo?  :D

Bob-

You are correct, of course.  The Kingsmen will take it one game at time because on any given Saturday respected opponent X is capable of beating the New England Patriots.  So we will take it to the next level by committing to excellence and staying on the right track (which of course is actually untracked, like in the last two games)  ;D

snoop dawg

You guys got it all wrong about the beer......Rolling Rock, best f&%$*@$ beer in the world.  (Quote from the move, The Deer Hunter)

Steel Reserve? Anybody? Fine I'll drink it by myself  ;D.
Hail to the Orange!!!

D O.C.

Like all you guys can 'taste' after two of anything.

I'll take in Whittier/Chapman Saturday night and see if I can talk someone from Chapman into reading this site and actually posting.

I don't want to turn your fine board into the MIAC, talking only about beer, but come to the PNW if you want the good stuff.

Portland is home to more microbreweries that any other city in the country. That's not per capita, that's all cities.  There's bad news looming on the horizon, however, with a hop shortage, which will translate into rising prices, naturally.

The Champagne of Beers!

32oz. for .99 at the 7-Eleven across the street from the Green Apts. at Linfield back in the day!!

We used to get Blitz for .99 a six-pack. And we drank it! I think it was taken off the market as a health hazard, wasn't it?
Those cheap wines were .99 a bottle, too.

You shouldn't bother with the cheap bottled wine, what a waste... just go to the boxed wine, it's classier.
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

Boxed wine is ok but there are certain jugs of wine that are definitely better ;) :D ::)...

From the Oxy Website:

Tromello Earns SCIAC Athlete of the Week Honors

Los Angeles, Calif. (October 10, 2007)

Congratulations to Daniel Tromello, senior defensive back, who was named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for the week of October 1-7, 2007.

Tromello, a  Newbury Park, Calif. native, played a key role in the Tigers' 28-21 victory over Redlands in SCIAC competition on the gridiron Oct. 6. He was a nuisance for Redlands all day as he finished with two interceptions, broke up three additional plays and tallied 4.5 tackles (three solo, three assists). In the third quarter he picked off the Bulldogs, making an incredible juggling catch before running the ball back 74 yards to the one yard line. This return led to a score, which served as the ultimate winning touchdown in the game. Additionally, one of his tackles was for a loss of four yards.

The Tigers remain undefeated in 2007 (4-0, 2-0 SCIAC) and extend the Oxy regular season winning streak to 30 games.
