Thanks for all of the wonderful efforts. To many to count. Hollyweird couldn't have written a better closing scene !!   Keep us up to speed on your plans for the future after things have settled down.  Now go get some ice on the legs and arms you bad ass.

So I beleive I'm officially allowed to post since I'm now finished with my career, unless the poets recieved an at large bid I don't know about??... OxyBob you seem to be reaching somewhat of a celebrity status because I was informed after we spoke  "that was oxybob" haha...
Good luck to Redlands in representing the SCIAC... Given how my body felt after that game (not to mention my pride) I'm sure you're coming home with the W...good season
There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

Doug Flutie was no slouch at 5'8". At the D3 level it's the love of the game and who has the heart to succeed.

Who will be our QB next year? Casteneda? 5'7" can't be good. :)

Let's not pick on the short guys.  Eddie LeBaron did pretty well at 5'7. :-*

i hear you..I was just joking around. Hell, I should know about undersized players..my kid is one of them. ;)

Another Johnnie fan here to echo the sentiments of others:  Any Redlands fans who make the trip out (highly recommended!!!) are more than welcome--invited, actually--to join the Stiftungsfestivities pregame tailgate.

If you would like to bring something Southern California-esque to share, that would be a treat.  We'll be sure to have the Paris Hilton going on the CD player to make you feel even more at home.

Regarding the game itself, I'm sure we'll be on this board all week with some friendly crap-talking once we get a little more comfortable with Bulldog Football.  Be sure to check out www.JohnnieFootball.com as we preview the game right up to kickoff.

Warning--you don't have anything like Nick Gunderson in the SCIAC.

GO JOHNNIES!!!

TC, have no fear, the Bulldawgs are soft.  Patnode will carve them up.

don't let the johnnie fans fool you with the nice talk.  They are just elated that they don't have to face Whitewater for a third year in a row until possibly the Stagg Bowl.

By my estimation, Kofoed would win the Gagliardi Trophy and be 3rd in the Heisman balloting this year if he played all of his games on SprintTurf.  Still, Patnode will be a nice fall-back option.

That's Mr. OxyBob to you, whippersnapper.

Whittier College has taught me how to spell "believe" btw

Nice save, but you were only 1-for-2. You are no longer dealing with the Oxy secondary. Still happy you logged on?

OxyBob

Well MR. OxyBob Sir I sense a fair amount of bitterness in that response...understandable. ;)... I'm happy I logged in given that I've been threatening my computer screen at times over the past two years having just to watch.

As for next years QB I expect big things from Castenada... has one of the better arms I've seen.

Thank you for the good wishes although I don't know if my mind/body believes that football season is over...forever...so I'll continue in my state of ignorance is bliss.

So anyone on the board contemplating making their way to the Bulldog vs Johnny game?

Thank you for the support this year Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox, wish you guys could have been around for all four :).

I'm watching CNBC.  They are interviewing a guy giving $200 million to Claremont to train students in an alternative to the current MBA way of thinking.  Students will be selected in their sophomore year.

It is the largest gift ever to a liberal arts college.

Yeah because that would mean that you were attending the last johnnie game of the year :P

GF-
That would be correct.
However, he isn't some guy. Day happens to be Founder and Chairman of The TCW Group, Inc., which currently has more than US$160 billion in aum; and Chairman, President and CEO of the W.M. Keck Foundation, one of the nation's largest philanthropic organizations with assets of more than $1.5 billion.
Additionally, he serves as a Director of Société Générale, a member of the Board of Governors of The Broad Foundations, and was a former Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Claremont McKenna College, while remaining on the BoT currently.
The gift was out of his own wallet, not through any of his charitable foundations or trusts.
Even better, one of 3 alums who made the Forbes 400 list. In terms of sheer net worth, only two other alums have done better - Henry Kravis & George Roberts, both with an approximate net worth of $5.5 bil.

Not too shabby for a school just over 60 years old.

I am excited to see the new program, I just wish it had been in place when I was a student, another year would have been nice.
I think it will be an excellent addition, not harming the current chemistry and focus of the school, and continuing to set CMC apart from both the Liberal Arts community and the pure business focused programs such as Babson, Bentley, etc.

And now, back to football.

Well, that and it's got to be one of the most boring drives I can imagine.  Well, it might be a little better than the drive to Central, but at least we generally come away from there with a win. ;)

Who's Nick Gunderson?  And why does the SCIAC have nobody like him? Lets not get into the debate of West Coast Football vs. Mid West football.....its a no brainer!!!!

I bet these St. Johns fans still want to see Ohio State play LSU for the national championship....West Coast ball is faster and much more athletic.....can't wait until Saturday!

St. John's fans want to see the Johnnies play anybody for the national championship.  :D  -----
