All this White Castle this and In-n-Out that...

How could Tommy's be left out of this discussion?

If you don't see the Shack, take it back.

Animal Style fries at In&Out.

In-n-Out if FANTASTIC! I visited my first in Arz. in about 1999 and have since visited in Cali and Nevada. Too bad there are no plans to enter Minnesota or even the Midwest.
I usually get a Double Double with Fries (well-done) a choclate shake (killer) and a Tee Shirt!  ;D
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Of course you aren't a true Tommy's connoisseur if you haven't been to the one at Rampart and Beverly...

Come on!  I love Tommy's.  On the way to Vegas from SoCal you take the 15.  Which means you go through the wonderful metropolis that is Barstow.  Which means I always stop at the Tommy's they have off of Lenwood.

  Coming and Going ;D
Hail to the Orange!!!

MonroviaCat

seems like Tommy's has gone down hill since they expanded into larger market....  In-N-Out has not suffered the same fate (IMO).  What about Tops (the Original) in Pasadena?  Yum!
Go Cats!

OK this is the best place for some good ol' artery clogging pastrami.  If anyone questions me they haven't had the pastrami chilli cheese fries which take a year off your life and you don't even mind.

CRL is right - each trip to the Hat takes at least 6 months off of your life expectancy.  I had no idea they'd put pastrami on top of your chili cheese fries - which no joke, already are about the size of the volcano model OxyBob built for his sixth grade science fair.

Purple Heys - I did mention Tommy's about 15 pages ago.  I would agree that Tommy's has declined a bit - we used to drive to the one on Roscoe across from the Anheuser Busch plant - still doesn't seem right to eat one without the smell of mediocre brewing overwhelming your senses...

TC-
I'll leave it to the MIAC guys to make jokes about what happens when you mix Tommy Burgers with Tommy Girls.

Yeheah...in 1976 maybe. See that word Rampart in there? No sloppy hamburger is worth you or your dear one's life.

Almost forgot...God speed all those who travel tonight and our armed forces over seas who may be able to listen.

More gastronomy . . .

Tommy's on Rampart and Beverly is the ONLY Tommy's . . .

The new Oinkster on Colorado (north side, east of Eagle Rock) is pretty damn good . . .

Finally . . . late night study/drinking food sources in the 70's . . . . can you say "Burrito King?"

Greasiest and best cheap mexican food at 3 am you can find in LA . . . for earlier sober options, El Arco Iris or the original El Cholo on Western.

GO DAWGS, JAM THE JOHNNIES . . . west coast dudes . . . .  8)

DAWGS BY 3

So . . . never been to Minnesota . . . I understand it's like Iowa, only with less corn and more Lutherans.  ;) ;D

Cons:  Some weird affiliation with the Mormon Church.

I have never quite understood the beef some people have with the Mormons. Polygamy is exactly the same thing as monogamy -- one wife too many.

OxyBob

Yup, but you gotta love that motto for that Utah beer:

Polygamy Porter ... When You Want More than One.

Too much burger talk: I'll take a Juicy Lucy at the Nook over either WC (except as a hangover cure) or an In-N-Out any day. In DC, Five Guys is the place BTW, although some locations are better than others.
