Boyz, Boyz, Boyz....
simple....it seems that a venerable Lutheran organization underwrites the trips for California Lutheran and Pacific Lutheran every year so that those institutions can keep playing each other, so why don't you two compose a letter to the Southern Baptists apologizing for the last 20 years and ask them to underwrite such a sweet deal for us, the Sister Schools?

Doc great idea...maybe we could get 11 and RFB to co-host a tailgate for us :o

That would be cool with me.  Actually RFB and I have traded many PM's over the years and I think he's a pretty cool guy.  It's just that we are both passionate and can get very defensive about our programs and I think we both like making digs at the other school.  Please notice I never take shots at RFB but mainly at a guy/program he really respects!  ;)

wc11......ok, I can undertand why Linfield wants to play more d3 teams on its schedule and the SCIAC is a natural fit.  I also understand the Redlands issues.  But are they so desperate that they want to play Laverne?  Playing them certianly cannot help their SOS rating.  Not trying to be a wise guy just inquiring.

Snoop Dawg... I think La Verne just wants a piece of Linfield ;D

Cal Cat

They are going to have to wait in line with everyone else in the SCIAC. ;)

Snoop Dawg...what line...we wish there was a line ;D

I know it's a year and half down the road but I can shut up now about the SCIAC ducking Linfield.  Starting 2010 the 'Cats will be playing Cal Lu and LaVerne.

That's great Linfield was able to schedule CLU and ULV. Cal Lutheran's been strong for the past 5-6 years, first under Scott Squires and now under Ben McEnroe. As for La Verne, they have been pretty bad the last 2 years, but they're still better than no one to cheer for at all.

I will be cheering for the tigers next year, how about you?

Absolutely, it's all in good fun. So, has Coach Smith figured out how to teach ball security yet?

Like everybody else, I am glad to hear that Linfield and CLU will meet in 2010.  The best football game I witnessed in person during my formative years was the Kingsmen's comeback win in the 1977 NAIA semi-finals.  I know D O.C. enjoyed that one almost as much as I did. ;)

I think so but at least Coach Smith has some balls to secure unlike Maynard.

Congrats to all the players who were named all-conference and all-region. Brock Arndt and Jacob Calderon were really fun to watch on defense, and I don't think Ashton Clarke got enough "press" on here...he was rock solid for CMS. With Justin Goltz graduating and Dan Selway probably not coming back, it looks like CLU should be the favorite gping into next year. Oxy has had 2 excellent Qbs in a row so it'll be a challenge for Widolff to come up with another one.

As for the Whittier situation that program has been in the dumps for a long time and hasn't been any good since Bob Owens coached there. If O'Boyle takes over they should be OK although O'Boyle is a better defensive coach. When O'Boyle was the DC at Redlands he did fine but when he took over as OC Redlands struggled. One of the problems was that they stuck with Chris Saras at Qb rather than replacing him with Dan Selway who was a better athlete and a much better passer. 20-20 hindsight of course!

I am looking forward to seeing Linfield play in SoCal...that's a heck of a great program.

I'm sure Widolff has some tricks up his sleeve.  Don't know much about the QB's left on the roster after this year.  The likely replacement for Goltz would probably be Saunders SR 5'11 205.  Other QB's on the roster currently are SR Kyle Kazarian 5'9 180 and SO Jordan 'The flyin' Hawaiian' Helle 6'3 225.  I would think Saunders has gained the most experience with the offense and game speed from backing up Goltz the last two years, however, on paper Helle might be a more naturally gifted at the position.

I also wouldn't discount Oxy's running game, which I know led the SCIAC this year (244yd/game), and I believe led the SCIAC last year as well.
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

No. Give someone else in the SCIAC a chance at one and done.

There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

Ouch! I started to rebut that post, but.......couldn't.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.
