That's great thatLinfield is coming to SoCal to play Oxy. Oxy's been playing a lot of non-conference stiffs so congrats for stepping up in class.

That's a well-deserved honor for Jacob Calderon to be named an all-American by AFCA. Calderon's been the dominating force for the CLU defense for the past two years. Every opponent had trouble containing that guy.

I see that snoop is still being a turd...he has nothing else to do since his overhyped untalented son bombed at Redlands.

You give props to one kid and then shoot a low blow to another. Did he really deserve that? Let it go already. Redlands was not the right fit for him. He has moved on and hopefully he does well.

This just in:  Linfield to play at Oxy in 2009!

Oh, darn, and your kicker is graduating. Too bad. I was so looking forward to seeing him, just like I look forward to unending posts about "Salty D" and "Leave No Doubt" for the next 275 days.

And I would bet the remains of my IRAs that the snark-meister who wrote that did not know ANY of the "obscure" facts before looking them up for the hatchet job.
The author, Gregg Easterbrook, graduated from Colorado College, which in the last 10 years is 25-68, and just completed its 2008 season with a sterling 0-9 record, one of only eight D-III schools to go winless. No wonder he doesn't like D-III football.
I forget what that kind of argument was called in my Logic class ... but one's affinity for D-III football isn't necessarily tied to the record of one's alma mater.

Three lefts = Right.
Two wrongs = Three lefts.
Therefore, two wrongs make a right.

SCIAC fan,    We obviously know what your talent is, unwarranted personal attacks.  I have ignored your comments in the past but this one requires comment.  If you knew the facts you would realize how ignorant your comment was.  Your opinion of me or my "untalented" son is meaningless.  Now that I know who you are, if you compare your athletic accomplishment to my sons yours  pale in comparison.

Finally, assume for the moment he isn't good enough to ever play another down of football, he still has one thing you obviously lack......Class.  This is the last time I will ever respond to one of your ignorant comments.

OB,
C'mon now you wouldn't want it any other way.  Actually in honor of the Oxy-Cat 09 contest I promise to break out some new material.  Cal Cat-- Why don't you send up some of your A game stuff.

Peace Out

Jumping in here. I know for a fact the Snoop's son is neither overhyped nor untalented.  I can tell you one thing for sure.  All it's going to take is a chance to fairly compete at a school who needs a QB and a coach who isn't full of @#$%. He'll do the rest.

Nice article from Inland Daily Report on La Verne's progress toward new sports complex

Future University of La Verne athletic complex one step closer to reality

LA VERNE - The future University of La Verne Campus West Athletic Complex is one step closer to becoming a reality.
The City Council decided in a 4-0 vote Monday night to approve the university's application for a conditional-use permit.

Council member Donna Nasmyth did not cast a vote, because she is employed by the university.

The permit allows the school to amend its master plan to formally incorporate a 31-acre site south of Arrow Highway and east of Marshall Canyon Channel for development of the athletic complex.

The site will be the new location of the college's baseball, softball and multiuse fields along with tennis facilities.

The relocation of the sports facilities from the main campus will, in turn, allow for the expansion of the school, according to a city staff report.

The university's master plan, adopted in 2007, allows for the long-term expansion and development of the campus over the next 10 to 20 years, according to an University of La Verne staff report.

The 31 acres owned by the university were purchased from the Metropolitan Water District in 2007 after the redevelopment agency and the university acquired the land.

Despite the university being the sole owner of the land, there is a 199-year joint-use development agreement between the city and university for the city's current and future recreational programs to use the athletic facilities.

Dave Koch, director of facilities

management for the university, said the question of how to pay for the construction of the sports complex is up in the air.
The price for the project should be between $16 million and $18 million, he said.

"We don't have final costs because we haven't put it out to bid," Koch said.

Koch said there are several sources to look at for funding, which include a bond, a bank, an insurance company or overseas investors for funding.

Negotiations are in process.

Koch said more information should be known by mid-January or early February.

Still, he was pleased to see the project move forward Monday night.

"We've been working on this for a year and a half, and the environmental impact report has been a lot of work," said Koch, who also thanked city staff for their work on the project.

Once funding is secured, building the project's first phase will begin.

Scheduled for completion in 2009 are a baseball stadium, eight tennis courts, restroom and concession facilities as well as parking lots.

The construction of an extension road from Wheeler Avenue west to the Marshall Canyon Channel is also included in the first phase.

The second and third stages, to be completed between 2009 and 2020, will be the construction of soccer facilities and a softball stadium.

, a remaining 14 acres would be developed into a track/football stadium and gymnasium.

Future development would include the extension of Wheeler to Puddingston Drive, according to the staff report.

QuoteYou know, some people on this board would consider that a threat and would suggest you need counseling.  I personally think you were just trying to be funny.

Could have sworn PC chided about keeping this stuff alive. Stop.

SCIACfan...stop.
Suggest you delete that post;modify;whatever. Unnecessary.

I am pleased I will get to see the away jerseys in SoCal again.  Does anyone at OXY think they can talk the SID into getting me a field pass?  I'm used to standing at LINFIELD games. Besides, I can no longer sit on that concrete and I don't own one of those donut thingies.

Just channel your inner college student and sneak onto the sideline.  No one will notice, just wear some Linfield stuff and hurry around carring a water bottle or a dufflebag.

"No time to talk, must hydrate wildcats.... Field pass?!?  You're going to ask me for field pass at a time like this?!?!"

Believe me the security guards only look like they care about securing the place.
Go TIGERS!!!

Tough days for Tiger Football.

Hey snoop FYI my son played football for 4 years at a SCIAC school...he got in on his own merit and didn't need his daddy to go onto every football message board in America hyping him like you did and he didn't need me to hire a professional sports marketing agent like Chris berg to make up a bunchof propaganda to snooker a school into giving him financial aid....stealth that was a very nice fairy tale you told there...with it being Christmas and Santa Claus I guess it fits...fact is that there was competition for the Qb spot at Redlands and snoop's kid couldn't hack it so he cut and ran...he never would have started ahead of Dan Selway and he knew it so he left and if he was still there he'd be backing up Steve Smith...but it's always easier to blame the coach...I guess since he's so great he'll be the starting Qb for Whitewater next year...not
