Linfield @ UPS game this year listed attendance at 3742.  Now, I missed that game but in putting together the highlights it looked like you could shoot cannon balls into the Logger home stands and not hit a single person.  A total bogus number.

There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

Thought I would see if you gentlemen have any info regarding this player or the schools involved.

I can comment here. Colfax High School is a small school football power in the Sac-Joaquin football section in Northern California. They run a high octane, gunslinger offense and are known for turning out very good quarterbacks. Also, Colfax is in the Sierra foothills heading up to Lake Tahoe and the kids have a reputation as being hard working, tough kids. I can confirm that is true as we played them when I was in High School.

Sierra JC is one of the best junior college football programs in the state of California, definitely in the top five in a state with 100 plus programs. Trust me when I say this, if the kid started at Sierra he is the real deal.

Also, Sierra is coached by Jeff Tisdal who used to be the head coach at the University of Nevada for four years. During his time there he won two Big West conference championships and one bowl game.

Uh oh. How in the heck did Whitewater get their snare set out in California's gold country?

I think all the Wisconsin parents should be screaming, "No more California imports!"

From the sounds of the article, the young man has been a blip on Coach Leipold's radar screen since his Offensive Coordinator days at Nebraska-Omaha, prior to returning to UWW as head honcho.

Ya, only if your son aspires to be a starting QB for the Warhawks.  After the last Cali QB helped lead to us to the promise land in 07, I say bring 'em on!  From what RFB says, this could be quite a coup for Liepold and if he set his sights on the kid back when he was coaching for U of N-Omaha, than one could infer that his talents were considered good enough for the D2 level.  All that sunshine and warm weather must just get old after awhile! ;)

If he's headed to Whitewater from Colfax, then that means he probably couldn't get into Sierra Junior College.

"He may even be throwing passes on ESPN later this year. After only one season quarterbacking the offense at Sierra College, the Colfax High graduate has decided to transfer to NCAA Division III powerhouse University of Wisconsin-Whitewater this fall.
"I'm excited about the four-year experience, going away and doing my own thing for a little while," Rump said. "I got a great year of junior college football under my belt."

Thanks again for the info, RFB.  I had no knowledge of either school.  Could be an interesting QB race come fall for the Hawks if the article is accurate.

Hahahahahahaha! So he actually *did* go to Sierra JC! Too funny.

I'm for the guy (until the playoffs). I wouldn't want to go through life with that last name.
And the Colfax newspaper writer even had to lay on the "Rump ready to Jump!"
