I'm soooo confused.

Missed the Oxy Linfield game, sounded like a great one.  Congrats to both teams for scheduling the game.  Any predictions that a rematch will occur?

not unless they meet in the playoffs---this was a one year filler for both programs--I believe Linfield will be headed south again next year but not to Oxy...

I caught the last three quarters of the CLU-PLU game.  Nice to see the Kingsmen clean up some of the first game miscues that hurt them against Willamette.  They looked good in every aspect of the game on Saturday.  The one dramatic period of the game came in the second quarter when PLU spent, what felt like, an eternity in the red zone.  The Lutes, as is often their way, kept forgoing easy field goals to go for it on fourth down.  Ultimately, they left empty handed, still down 14-0.  Not sure if that was a game defining moment, but it couldn't have helped the PLU cause.

I went to the CLU-PLU game too. Cal Lu was solid on both sides of the ball. I said it before and I'll repeat my prediction that the Kingsmen will beat Redlands and Oxy and will win the SCIAC.

I see snoop dawg is still trying to kiss up and pretend that he's still part of d3 and the SCIAC. Hey snoop how many more times are you going to ask if Oxy is going to play Linfield next year. You asked once and MonroviaCat and DOC and a few others answered you but I guess you didn't score enough kissy points so you had to go and ask again. so you could pretend to be interested. Good god man doesnt it get tiring to be a constant kiss up?

"Any predictions that a rematch will occur?"

I was asking for predictions if they will meet again this year meaning, will they win their leagues and meet in the playoffs?

Sorry you misunderstood.

I really don't understand your continued animosity.  I continue to enjoy following d3 football, is there something wrong with that?  Maybe your the one who needs to, get over it.

I too wnet to the CLU-PLU game. I wish I could see all the matchups among Oxy, UR, and CLU. And seen Oxy twice now. Those are going to be some good games.

This Saturday's games:

Whittier (1-1) @ Cal Lutheran (1-1) 1:00 p.m.
Oxy (1-1) @ Claremont (2-0) 1:00 p.m.
La Verne (0-2) @ Redlands (2-0) 7:00 p.m.
Chapman (1-1) @ Pomona (2-0) 7:00 p.m.

Pomona has not started a season 3-0 since 2003. Chapman is coming off a 23-8 loss at Whitworth. Cal Lutheran has won 8 straight against Whittier. Make it 9 after Saturday. Redlands will have an easy time against ULV in preparation for the Bulldogs' match-up with Oxy on October 10. The last time Oxy played at Claremont the Tigers barely escaped, 28-27, and they had to block a Stag field goal in the last 15 seconds to do that. The Tigers need to find a way to get their all-SCIAC RB Jason Haller untracked. In two games Haller has rushed for only 47 yards, and the Tigers have only gained 135 net yards rushing.

Hey OB  one thing Oxy may consider is that at least in our game, the only time they ran ---the QB was under center.

I'd like to see a bit more West Coast Offense with Haller and the other Oxy RBs used as receivers out of the backfield.

I've seen Claremont and Oxy and would be surprised and concerned if Haller and O line didn't get "untracked" Saturday.

Since it's already friday here, I think it's prediction time for me too:

Whittier (1-1) vs. Cal Lu (1-1):  If Whittier can't stop Menlo's offense (which was shutout by Oxy)  they can't stop Cal-Lu either.  38-10 The 'Lu

La Verne (0-2) @ Redlands (2-0):  Redlands has a tendency to consistantly dominate middle and lower tier SCIAC teams with their unique (in the SCIAC) defense.  I don't think they've been upset by someone who wasn't Oxy or Cal Lu since Whittier in `06.  La Verne doesn't have a Josh Scurlock.  42-7 Pups

Chapman (1-1) @ Pomona (2-0):     Toss-up.  Unless some major recruiting was done at P-P that I'm not aware of, I'm going to assume that Chapman has better athletes, minus Caron and possibly the recievers.  Chapman has a lot of new starters, lets see if week 3 is when they figure it out.  24-21 Panthers in what i guess is a minor upset.

Oxy (1-1) @ Claremont (2-0)  Point 1) I was on the team that almost lost to the Stags two years ago.  That team had lost its two best defensive players (Anthony Ostland and Alex Wertheimer) a stellar corner (Trace Wallace) and its best offensive player (RB Matt Andersen), all either during that game or the week before.  This year's Oxy team is healthy as far as I know.

Point 2) Oxy absolutely crushed CMS last year 38-0.  It was one of the easiest and most perfectly executed games I've ever played in.  The key to repeating last year's success will be Haller.  Last year he steamrolled the entire team and literally put cleat marks on their best LB's jersey on a TD run.  Search "inside the tiger's den" on Youtube and skip to the CMS vs. Oxy part to see what I'm talking about.  Sorry I don't have time to look it up and tell you what minute to skip to.

The defense will eat CMS up, no question.  If Haller and the young oline have a breakout game : 35-7 Oxy.  If not: 21-7 Oxy

Since he was mentioned, I'm wondering how Josh Scurlock is. Are you lurking? (He came on these pages once.)
And speaking of lurking, are the 'Ricardo's' sitting together at games and not posting? They still have a take that should be interesting.

In 2008 Scurlock played in Sweden for the Arlanda Jets. Not sure about lately.

After being a constant thorn in Oxy's side, it's ironic that Scurlock ended up playing for a team whose colors are orange and black.

100 years of Redlands football. Well done and surprised that I'm in one of the photos.

That was a fun little video.
Was it the photographer's idea to have you put one paw on the ball?   :D

{Not surprised no LINFIELD game slide made it in.} sarcasm

7-7 at the start of the 3rd. Any audio for this game?
